I love the New Balance 990 V3/V4/V5. This was my first V6 purchase and they are definitely not up to standard. They squeak very loudly with orthotics and do not fit correctly around where the ankle and tongue area meet. If I hadn't already worn them for some time to try and give them a chance to break in, I would return them.

Nope. Why would you change a great shoe? The 990v5 has the support people need. If we wanted squishy foam we can always go to Hoka. This is not a stability shoe with the support New Balance is known for. Trash.

Massive Tongue Will Rub A Hole In Your Skin
This shoe is not like the previous "Made in the USA" shoe that I hoped it would replace. The MASSIVE tongue rubs the front of my ankle and will quickly rub a hole in my skin. Unfortunately I will have to return them and begin the hunt for a decent replacement made in the USA. It does not look like the picture. The tongue rises 2" beyond the top shoelace hole. I tried to attach a picture where offered inthe website, but it would not "stick".
