I wasn’t expecting much because I assumed that, being a more affordable option compared to the 1080s — which are one of New Balance’s most iconic and popular everyday trainers — they would feel much heavier. Of course, I expected them to be cushioned, but I didn’t expect them to feel so lightweight within the shoe’s structure, especially considering how robust they look. They felt incredibly comfortable from the very beginning. I truly think they are an everyday trainer in every sense of the word. I sometimes struggle adapting to new shoes — for example, it actually took me a bit longer to adapt to the new 1080s v15 — but with these, it was honestly love at first run. I’ve found them absolutely amazing. They’re actually the shoes I’m using the most right now. Additionally, I think New Balance did an incredible job with the aesthetics of the shoe. I feel like it really responds to the growing intersection between running and fashion, which makes it much easier for the shoe to naturally transition into the lifestyle space as well.

These are not only super cute but super comfortable. I broke them in on the treadmill and they wore fine. I also took them outside on pavement and dirt and they were fine on both textures.

Cushioned Comfort, Roomy Feel

Love the fit of the shoe! Great toebox, nice volume in the midfoot, looks great, feels wonderful. Landed on the Ellipse after replacement 880s were a pinching suprise of a redesign. I genuinely like this shoe and it is a keeper. I would prefer less stack height. That marshmellow feel is a personal preference, it can feel like walking on clouds or anxiety about rolling an ankle. I will keep these for long days on concrete and look forward to seeing what NB brings us in the future with the Ellipse. Still preferring the Nitrels for most uses/days. Both are comfortable on my feet.

Puts A Spring In Your Step

These shoes are so cushy, it’s like walking on a trampoline. It made me feel like my walk changed a little and I had to adjust to the springy feel. I am a care aide and I work long shifts and these shoes felt so good . I was so happy but then I started to find that my legs would ache at the end of the day. I honestly feel that because the shoes are so bouncy and cushy that it is making me walk a little different and this is causing the leg pain. Now I wear them for a couple of days then switch to my old shoes for a couple of days and that seems a little better. I will not buy these shoes again because I feel like they just don’t work for me but I’m sure that they will be perfect for someone else.
