Maybe it’s just a difference in brand, but my daughter tried these cleats instead of her other namebrand cleats. She wore them twice. She ended up with blisters and skin torn off all of the tops of her toes, the backs of her ankles, and the pads of her feet. The teammate has the same parent said after several months they’re still not broken in correct correctly either. We have immediately replaced with the previous brand. Same size. No issues.

There is an icon NB at the heel that protrudes inwards and caused blisters. The last model Freeze did not have this, disappointing.

Great shoes for teen girl who plays flag football. Very comfortable, her feet get sore w most cleats but not these

The concepts of the shoe design are good; however, the execution of the sock liner is poor. My daughter likes the wider fit of these cleats compared to other brands and has been wearing the Freeze v4 for multiple seasons with good success, but she's had number issues with break-in and the sock liner of the v5. Specifically, the sock liner doesn't transition into the upper of the shoe with stitching, instead the sock liner attaches at the footbed with the outer of the shoe being separate. New Balance did try to glue to sock liner to the outer shell of the shoe; however, after a few wears this glue wears off and the sock liner separates from the outer. This causes a pocket in between the sock liner and the outer where dirt and turf debris can get inside and cause chaffing and blisters. My recommendation for future models is to stitch the tongue portion of the sock liner at the outer just below the lace holes so that the outer of the shoe can be next to skin and stitch the sock liner part around the ankle directly to the padding at the ankles or get rid of the sock liner and bring back to old upper.

The V4s were so much better. The V5s are too stiff. Huge step back
