Excellent shoes for long runs. The Fresh Foam is soft but reliable. I've had other shoes in the past in which the foam didn't last as long and after a few weeks, uou could feel it "deflating". The shoes are also very breathable. A small detail, but always appreciated, is the elastic in the tongue that helps keeping the shoe's integrity in a long workout session.

One Design Change Too Far

I have worn this stability model for years and usually have 4 pairs in rotation - 2 for work & 2 for exercise. I have never had to 'break them in' but that is what it feels like. They are actually painful for me. It is also too much bulk for me and trips me up. A minor issue is the lack dark gray for office wear as I have shopped all my pants to match to get away with wearing them at work.

Run Very Small. Be Warned.

These shoes run at least a half size/ almost full size too small. I am very consistently an 8.5 in sneakers, and even a proper 8.5 in other new balance shoes I own, but not these. I find I can barely wear these shoes for 30 minutes before feeling my feet constricted by the tightness and my toes hitting the front of the shoe, cramming my toes inward. I have been a new balance lover for years but very unhappy with this product!
