My daughters have been avid New Balance Fastpitch Softball Cleats and Turfs shoe since the Velo V1 version. We have bought these every year a new version came out, or multiple times a year when they wore out and NEVER had an issues with the comfort until now. The padding in the Velo V4 is so thick that you need to size up at least 1 to 1 1/2 sizes. When both girls put them on they said they were rather snug, for my younger daughter we even went up a 1/2 size to account for the extra padding. I had assumed once they wore them a few times for practice or a couple tournaments we would be good, and the padding would go down molding to their feet, I was wrong. This past weekend my youngest daughter wore these during a long tournament in Kansas and got the worse blisters on the back of her heels, that she could no longer pitch for her team. She still had her Velo V3 with her but had let her teammate borrow them, or else we would have gone back to using those. I now have to buy her another pair an extra size bigger because these are not giving her the space she needs.
