The "Wide" Size Is A Lot Narrower Than The V4

I just tried these today and am super disappointed. I love New Balance shoes and absolutely LOVED the SuperComp Elite v4. One of the reasons is because I have super wide and flat feet, and after trying dozens of shoes, the v4s offered the perfect wide width while giving me that balance of cushion and speed. I was somewhat excited to order these, but when I opened the package, I instantly noticed how much smaller these shoes ran. Especially in the width. Sure enough, I put them on and they were super tight, but I wanted to give them a fair shot. I did an 8 mile run, and had blisters on my pinky toe already because of the width and my feet feeling like they were coming out the sides. I really wish New Balance had actually kept the wide fit shoes as wide as the v4. Now I am scrambling to get the v4 from warehouse sites since New Balance doesn't carry them anymore.

Speed Slippers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have worn and loved the NB SuperComp Elite V4, so I was very excited to try these. They feel incredibly light and responsive, but sturdy enough to hold up in longer races. The fit seems slightly more narrow than other NB shoes, which is perfect for me and gives a more slipper-like fit. Love these shoes!

Lightweight And Energetic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They are so much more responsive and propulsive than the previous version without losing the comfort. Cant wait to race a variety of distances in these.

More Spring! Upgrade For The Supercomp Elite V5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big improvement over the last model. The shoes fit like a glove and provided extra "spring," when pushing off during a workout. The shoes felt lighter and more responsive.

Race-ready Ride With Cloud Like Cushion

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never written a shoe review before, but the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5 deserves every bit of praise. As someone with flat feet, I’m extremely picky when it comes to cushioning and support—most super shoes either feel too harsh or unstable underfoot. But these? Total game changer. From the moment I laced them up, I felt like I was floating. The FuelCell cushioning is unreal—super responsive, yet soft enough to keep my arches happy even on long runs. The carbon plate delivers that smooth, propulsive toe-off without sacrificing comfort. Honestly, they strike that rare balance between speed and support. I crushed a 14-miler in them last weekend and felt fresher than I ever have post-run. The fit is snug and secure, but not restrictive, and the rocker geometry makes every stride feel efficient. I can confidently say these are the best marathon shoes I’ve ever owned. I’m beyond excited to toe the line in these—they’re not just fast, they’re built to carry you all the way to the finish line. If you’re flat-footed like me and looking for that magic combo of cushion, responsiveness, and race-day energy—look no further. New Balance nailed it. 🏁💨
