Shoe felt overly tight and not wide enough - thicker feet may not be ideal for this shoe. Child reported that the back of the heel rubbed on his foot and it was uncomfortable. Otherwise these are nice trainers for children!

The shoe itself is durable and would be great for everyday use and also athletic activities. They fit well to size and easy to put on and take off. My son really like the feel on his foot! I like the materials and how easy they clean off!

The Nike Pegasus 42 are lightweight, comfortable, and provide excellent cushioning, which makes them perfect for running, sports, and everyday wear. My child says they feel really supportive and likes the bounce from the cushioning. The shoes also seem very durable and the traction is good for both pavement and playground surfaces. They look great and have held up well so far. Overall, a high-quality pair of shoes that I would definitely buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been extremely impressed with these shoes! We received these for my son at the most perfect time when going on our family vacation. When you are on a cruise ship, you take LOTS and LOTS of step. He never once complained of them being uncomfortable. He really enjoys them out on the basketball court (both at home and on the cruise ship) as well as when we go out for our family walks in the evening. I love the look of them and feel like you could pair them with pretty much any outfit. I also love the simplicity of the design. My son even mentioned how "cool" he feels wearing these. Overall this is a really great/comfortable shoe I would recommend to anyone!

The shoes are extremely lightweight and breathable. I barely noticed I was wearing them. I love how comfortable they were while running laps around the gym. I have the black and white pair. The overall design is nice and it goes with pretty much anything. I could see myself buying these in different colors if available.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just finished off a 7 day cruise to Honduras and Mexico with my family, and if you’ve ever been on a cruise you know they have themed nights from formal to casual. My son (Elliot) finished #1 in Texas in Jiu Jitsu for his age/weight so training is a major part of our lives. It’s easy to get carried away on a vacation, but Elliot didn’t falter. We rocked the Pegasus for style and had to hit the gym up on the ship to stay active, yet stylish. They’re some of the most comfortable running sneaker’s from children-adult sizing. The laces were also longer which is perfect for us and any kid learning to tie laces, sometimes when the lacing is too short it makes lace tying difficult. They’re perfect for casual walking around and running without causing discomfort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yet another classic in the Nike Pegasus line. This one sure didn't disappoint! First off, the zoom air cushioning implemented on this is great. It's responsive and bouncy. Really feels like you are being propelled forward during your run. ReactX cushioning in the heel was plush and very shock absorbing. Very helpful when absorbing impact on your stride. Loved the breathability on these. My feet never felt like they were overheating because of the many outlets for warm air to escape from. Lockdown was great. I always get concerned when there is a lip on the heel that allows for easy access into the shoe. However, I felt no type of instability. I was really locked in to the shoe. I'd say these looks way better than the previous generation model. It's more streamlined and aesthetically pleasing. Nike hit a home run with these.

Whether he is playing sports, at the park or wearing them to school. He says that they are light and comfortable. The shoes have a very sleek and minimalist look that match with his sporty outfits.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son isn't at the age of wearing super trendy sneakers, plus he plays rough. These seem to be able to withstand his constant running and playing. I'm always hoping his shoes can hold up against his activity level. He says there's a little more room in the shoe than usual (which he likes), that make them a little more comfortable than being true to size and it's not too tight, plus they'll last a little longer. My son likes the design due to logo placement and the dip in the sole of the shoe as well as the ombre going from black to white on the sole. He says the fabric is airy and light, which will help in feet not to be so sweaty. His favorite part of the shoe is the ombre color change on the sole. Overall he's happy with the shoe and wouldn't change anything about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got myself the Pegasus 42 in black and found them a great new sneaker for my running and honestly just a style sneaker as well. (Super easy to transition from the trail to the coffee shop!) My son was needed a new pair of running sneakers too as he always has a lot of energy to burn! He loved the look of my new sneaks - so it was easy to match (for maybe the last time?!?) This sneaker seems like it’ll holdup well for his running and sports needs. He say they’re very cushiony and comfortable! He also tells me that he thinks he is running even faster than the Cosmic Runners which is his current running sneaker. 😂 The mesh is really lightweight- which gives me a bit of pause is he wears them to school and is playing on the classroom floor. He tends to be rough on his knees and shoes during play! I think if we save these for sports- and running- they will have a long life with him!

The cushioning is comfortable enough for regular wear and light running, and the fit is generally secure, though it feels like it runs about a half size large - so I would recommend sizing down if you are in between sizes. Durability is solid for typical daily use, but nothing exceptional. They hold up fine, but they don’t feel especially rugged. Overall, they’re generally comfortable and reliable, but fairly basic compared to other running shoe options.

She previously wore the Pegasus 41 and already liked them, but she says the Pegasus 42 feels even more comfortable and softer underfoot. For kids who are constantly running around at school, the park, or practice, comfort really matters—and these definitely delivered. The first thing she noticed was how comfortable they felt right away. The Pegasus 42 has a really smooth and cushioned feel, which is something the Pegasus line is known for. Nike updated the shoe with improved cushioning and a more responsive Air Zoom setup in the midsole, designed to give a more energetic feel when running or walking. Compared to the Pegasus 41, the ride feels a little softer and more lively. Nike also added a bit more foam under the toes and refined the shape of the shoe to improve comfort and transitions while moving. From a kid’s perspective, that basically means the shoes feel light, springy, and comfortable all day, whether she’s running around or just wearing them casually. She really likes the classic black and white colorway. It’s simple, clean, and goes with everything. That said, she’s already excited to see some of the brighter and more fun color options that Nike usually releases as the year goes on. The Pegasus line has always had a sporty, classic running-shoe look, and the Pegasus 42 continues that tradition. The updated design still looks sleek but feels a little more modern thanks to subtle changes in the shape and outsole pattern. The upper uses a lightweight engineered mesh, which helps keep the shoe breathable and comfortable throughout the day. The mesh material feels soft and flexible but still supportive enough to hold the foot in place. For kids who are constantly moving, that balance between breathability and durability is really important. The materials also feel durable enough to handle everyday wear—whether that’s running on the playground, riding bikes, or just being a kid. The biggest highlight is definitely the comfort. My daughter immediately noticed that these felt even better than the Pegasus 41. The cushioning feels soft but still supportive, and they’re comfortable enough to wear all day. Another big plus is the versatility. These shoes work well for running, sports, or just everyday wear. If there’s one thing we’d change, it would just be having more fun color options available right away. The black and white pair looks great, but kids love bold colors and patterns, so we’re looking forward to seeing what Nike releases next. Overall, the Kids Nike Pegasus 42 is a great upgrade from the Pegasus 41. The improved cushioning, breathable mesh upper, and comfortable fit make it an excellent everyday shoe for active kids. Most importantly, my daughter loves them—which is really the best review you can give a kids’ shoe.
