Been wanting a pair of these but was hesitant. Decided to try the “Grand Opening” colorway. Absolutely love the look as it’s a beautiful shoe with amazing detail. But I buy basketball shoes for one reason. To play in. I’m a Kobe guy, but the new protro versions are not like the originals, and the best one is the 6 and Nike makes them impossible to buy, so I’m exploring different options. These have potential but my biggest issue is with the ridiculously bulky tongue with a rigid tubing around the top. It actually cut open my ankle and I haven’t been able to wear them since. I’m waiting for the scab to heal and I’ll try again with 2 pairs of socks and a looser snug on the laces. I’m curious to try the new release that has no tongue and a flyknit upper but they’re too pricey to risk being disappointed again and I don’t love the colors. I’ve found that Lebrons need some breaking in before they soften up so that’s what I’m hoping for.

Shoe Size
This review is based on the people who said the shoe hurt or felt stiff. This shoes are great for basketball and should be worn in a basketball court. Also, what I found helpful is sizing up. Go to fleet feet or any places that will measure your feet size and this will eliminate the pain you feel wearing a shoe two sizes smaller than you. My final advice is that our feet expand when we do a lot of movement like jumping, running or exercising in general, so the shoe that fit you snagged when you started are now hurting your feet. The solution is to always size up your activity shoes and wear your normal size on your everyday shoes.

Easily Scratched
As New, they look great, but two issues were found after wearing them a few times. For context, I use them only to play volleyball. After wearing them twice: 1) The purple material in the base of the shoes scratched very easily, 2) The green fabric got stained by the purple part when the shoes are stored together

I bought the black ones the masked menace. Really disappointed they hurt my ankle, they are not what I expected the shoe looks like a football cleat. I was wanting the black around the shoe to be more visible it just looks like a wide black shoe with a tongue that touches my freaking shin. The packaging was cool but I was excited for the all black shoe to finally come out and was super unimpressed. If I purchased another pair it would be a colorful one so that it wouldn’t be as plain and cleat like.

i got the masked menace.. its a solid shoe, feels good on feet, has room in it to fit cushion socks if you wear those , they look fantastic also … i also think nike should provide a better shoe box The one it comes with is truly to big You cannot stack it with the other shoes it was a cool concept but not a great idea

I Don’t Think We’re In Kansas Anymore
They look good, I get a lot of compliments from friends and strangers. I joke that I’ll click my heels together 3 times and get to where I’m going right away. They do need to get broken in. After about 5-7 days of wearing them, I’m still doing that but they are getting better.

Uncomfortable
Beautiful shoes. Great presentation. Imagine my thoughts when I put them on and they were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on. This changes my idea of buying shoes online. Its feel like the top of shoes lay directly on my feet and its completely uncomfortable. Im referring to the mesh on the top of the shoe. You can tell it’s made to be incredibly tight across the top of your foot. They are nice looking unfortunately don’t enjoy wearing them.

Presentation/style/comfort
The presentation to this years LeBrons was superb. I’ve been buying LeBron’s since the 13s and this shoe by far tops them all in presentation and style. Overall great shoe I just think you need to go up a half size in order to get the right fit.

Redemption
I have these in multiple colorways now, and the LeBron XXIII “Out For Redemption” is easily one of my favorite basketball shoes. Right up there with the Miami Twice colorway for me. The traction is great and the shoe feels really balanced on the court. It’s comfortable, responsive, and just overall performs really well whether you’re cutting, driving, or playing defense. The fit feels secure without being overly tight, which I really like. My only complaint is that they squeak pretty loud on the court, and unfortunately there isn’t much you can do about it. Some people like that because it shows the traction is gripping, but it can definitely be noticeable. Other than that, it’s a great shoe all around. Between the comfort, performance, and the clean design, it’s definitely one of my favorite pairs to hoop in.
