Wanted To Like These, But Uncomfortable For A Supinator

I bought these to replace my Nike Wildhorse 8s. I wanted a versatile shoe that could handle a mix of road running and gravel or packed-dirt trails, and on paper the ACG Pegasus Trail seemed like a great fit for that purpose. Unfortunately, they just haven’t worked well for me. I’m a supinator, and during runs I consistently develop discomfort along the outside of my foot. After running, I’ve also noticed soreness in my heel. I didn’t have these same issues with my Wildhorse 8s. I really wanted to like these because the road-to-trail versatility is exactly what I was looking for, but the fit and support simply aren’t comfortable for my feet. I’ll be looking for something else to replace my Wildhorse 8s.

Fourth Pair Of This Model

New Pegasus ACG is a bit firmer than the previous model. Still has good rebound and I prefer the added stability. Bit more lift also which is fine and brings the show closer to the Hoka type of sole. The traction is better than the previous model. Shoe remains extremely comfortable for road and trail. I size up a 1/2 size with this model.

Disappointing. Upper Torn From Wear After Just A Few Months.

These shoes are disappointing. After just five months the upper part of the shoe is torn from wear in several places. This shoe is not tough enough.

Nowhere Near As Good As Other Nike Runners

I buy and own a lot of Nike. And i have the similar version of these in the street running shoes. They’re amazing. However, these trail shoes are nothing like them. Nowhere near the cushion. In fact these are hard under the ball of your foot, yet soft at the heal. Very odd. The overall fit and comfort is good but these do run short compared to 50+ pair of other Nikes I’ve owned. The material also feels cheaper than usual. Maybe because they’re water resistant?

Defective/low Grade

Do not purchase these sneakers. After only three light uses the cushion that surrounds the ankle is pilling. Quality is not present for sneakers intended to be for runners.

Better Than Expected…

I have owned many Nike running shoes, but this is the first pair of trail shoes I have ever purchased. I was pleasantly surprised how springy and responsive they were in my first run. I’m looking forward to logging some big miles in them over the months to come!

Just Ok.

Pros and Cons from someone who LOVED the peg trail 5. Pros: 1) More stable than trail 5. Huge plus. Ankle and foot won’t roll as easily as trail 5. 2) cushioning is more forgiving than the 5. 3) foot lockdown is much improved. My Foot would slide in the peg trail 5, it does not in this. Cons: the extra cushioning in the forefoot takes away the Proprioception you had in the 5. You feel the cushioning, but not always the earth beneath. Essentially the muscles in the foot work harder in this model because instead of feeling the ground, you feel cushioning and the body doesn’t respond to the energy return as well. My feet are more tired after running in this new version than the previous version. This is the #1 reason it’s gets a 3 star. If you’re walking or doing chores or not running, these are great shoes. Otherwise - I’d look elsewhere for those who want a trail shoe that allows you have to better Proprioception. If the model stays the same for next year - I’ll likely just wear out what I have and find an alternative.

Super comfortable. Great for road to trail running. Bigger toe box is awesome and let’s your toes spread comfortably.

Much Softer Foam Than Previous Models, Uneven Sole

I've owned most previous models of Nike Pegasus trail and they've been my favorite long-distance trail shoe. This model has a few notable and to me, deal-breaking, changes. I found the sole of the shoe very uneven, applying much more pressure to the outside of my foot. Crucially, the foam is also squishier, making it less responsive and more prone to ankle sprains.

Boom!!

Just what I needed for my walks and runs on questionable pavement used by construction crews in a new housing development. These are comfortable and light and definitely get the job done!

Really disappointed with this shoe, v little ankle support and really clunky. Went out on mountain one day in good conditions and nearly went over my ankle several times on a route i have done dozens Of times with nó issues. Using original Pegasus trail (best Road to trail shoe !) now That this has been discontinued i Will have to go look elsewhere. It wasnt broken lads there was nó Need to fix it !!!

Awesome Color!

Great shoe! Will probably buy another pair in a different color. Purchased to have a comfortable shoe to wear while shooting sporting clays (Shotgun sports). Needed something that would be wearable on dirt/dust trails and outdoor terrain but still look stylish.
