Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shallow profile These have a very shallow instep. The profile is very low and when I walk/run in these I feel like my heel will slip out. It doesn't slip out, but it feels insecure, like my foot doesn't quite fit in the shoe all the way. I wouldn't say I have 'high insteps', since I've yet to have this problem with other shoes in the past 30 years or so. I figure in 2018, data and guidelines for appropriate shoe height is well established and readily available to the largest shoe maker on the planet, but who knows. The toebox is also shallow, causing my big toe to rub uncomfortably. The pointed rear sole is a design blunder. They're going back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Try on before you buy if you have high insteps I had high hopes for these shoes. I liked their style. Their waterproofing features seemed well thought out. Their material appeared to be softer and hence more comfortable wearing than the Lunarglide H2O Repel shoes I currently use for very wet and messy days. Unfortunately, it was a struggle getting them on. I had to resort to taking out the insoles to get my feet in the shoes. Admittedly my feet have high insteps, so this probably will not be an issue for most people. All in all they seem like they would be a good wet weather conditions running shoe for prople that can get them on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, water resistant, comfortable winter running shoe. Seattle, 44 degrees, rain I pulled these shoes out of the box this morning and did what every runner does with new shoes- took ‘em for a test drive and got them dirty. If you live in Maine, Montreal, Minnesota or Mercer Island, Wa these shoes are for you. I’ve been running in Nike shoes for two decades and the fit was spot on. The uppers are pretty snug, so I’d recommend trying them on in the store first. The laces are unique but worked great. The soles had solid grip on wet blacktop, although all new shoes generally do, but the footbed was comfortable and felt like the standard Pegasus ride. My feet were warm and stayed dry on a four mile test drive. Perfect winter running shoe, can’t wait to try them in the snow. Thanks Nike!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for Me I have been running on Pegasus for years now and the 35 is my favorite year by far. I was excited to get the Shield version for wet/snowy runs, but it just didn't work for me. The "no tie" lace system is great, but it does make the shoe somewhat difficult to get on. I also feel like it puts a lot of pressure around the top of the shoe...that combined with a very snug overall fit made my toes go numb. I wish they had worked but they're going back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Odd fit compared to Pegasus 35 The lacing is annoying and doesn’t stay or get tight enough for trail running, or even running on icy/mixed surfaces. The sticky rubber is better than traditional rubber, however, if I were able to remove the lacing and replace with traditional lacing I would. The shoe also sits noticeably lower on the ankle than my regular 35s did which has taken some getting used to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like running on a trampoline I’ve only done 20 miles on these. But so far I like the mid foot strike bounce. Also I love the laces. Most triathlon shoes come with these and I can’t understantd why these are not standard for running shoes. I am worried with my weight the cushion won’t last.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to like these! I really wanted to like these, but the toe box is waaayyyy too tight and the arch is high as others have indicated. Great idea, poor execution. Returned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy if high instep I cannot even get them on. If you have a high instep they are WAY WAY too tight.
