Solid Defensive Middie Stick

Not sure why it doesn't specify anywhere that this is a defensive style head so it is geared more towards the defensive middle position. With that in mind it is a solid option as long as you don't need a long pole. The pole is shaped aluminum which means it is solid and can deliver a hit and not break while still being light weight. The head is nice thick plastic and feels sturdy enough to deliver hits without snapping (haha very important). The strings are pretty standard. The way the pocket side string's grip works, as it gets used it looses its tact over time and will need to be replaced (should replace your strings every couple of months or your passing will be impacted). Pretty much all lacrosse heads have the strings rub on the grass/turf when scooping ground balls...so the strings at the top of the head will wear and eventually snap needing replacement...just how it all works. Have noticed on this stick and my other STX about the time the top strings wear (getting ground balls) is usually about time when the pocket tact has dropped and a new set of strings is necessary. Of course your mileage may vary...if you are going after a lot of ground balls (probably a starter if you are) then your top strings may wear more quickly. Have seen (and done myself) using hockey tape to cover the top pocket strings to help prevent the wear some. Hope that helps...would say this is a solid mid-tier stick that can serve you well for the price. :)

Good Not Great

Bought this stick thinking it would be a great starter stick and it was for the most part except for when the strings broke about 3-4 months into using the stick. This is not a very durable stick, so if your child is trying to use this stick, make sure to be open to the idea of having to replace the stick relatively soon.
