[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very versatile shoe that I have worn to cross-train, lift, jog short distances, and even run daily errands. The shoe provides plenty of flexibility and bounce in my HIIT sessions, while the outsole has enough grip to get me through various types of power movements at the gym. Overall, I would say the shoe is lightweight with a good amount of cushioning, but one thing I have found annoying about this shoe is that it squeaks with each step that I take. It could be the upper materials used or the way the lacing is designed. For sizing, I did go with my true to size and the fit was just right. If you want a sturdy training shoe that you can depend on to meet your lifting goals, the 7's are it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with the fit and feel of the Nike Metcon 7 Men's Training Shoes. They felt stable and supportive during workouts while still being comfortable enough for longer wear. The fit felt secure without being too stiff. I liked the overall design. It has a clean, athletic look and feel durable. The material felt breathable yet sturdy, especially for training and lifting sessions. What I liked most was the balance of comfort and stability during workouts. If I could change one thing, I would make them feel just a little more flexible right out of the box because it took a few times wearing them to loosen up a little. Overall, a great training shoe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been more than impressed with this pair of shoes, and have actually had a problem saving them for the gym. With the wide platform of the midsole paired with the cinching wrap of the upper, these make for a great stable platform. For weightlifting, or for standing all day on my feet in a hospital setting, these have shown me that a purposefully built shoe can beat out a generic running shoe any day. I love the fit, and they fit true to size, with a comfortable upper and firm base. The materials all feel top quality, and my black-on-black ones make for a simple and understated aesthetic. I would highly recommend a pair of these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is actually a really comfortable shoe. The shoe was used mostly for the gym and for everyday wear to see how it would hold up throughout the day. Let’s start with the performance aspects of the shoe. The shoe is good I would say for the gym. A little heavy and firm feel. But if you want something that feels locked down and provides a lot of stability this shoe definitely does that. As far as fit goes the shoe definitely has a narrow toe box which isn’t a problem for me but can be something to consider when picking the right size for the shoe. The design to me is actually pretty good. The color combinations have the potential to be endless with this model. So far the materials seem to be holding up well throughout the shoe. The shoe is comfortable but there are some more comfortable options for everyday wear in my opinion. Which is okay, because the focus for this shoe is more training. If doing a lot of strength training a lot of gym workout that don’t include a ton of cardio or running but more lunges type then this shoe is a great choice!

Great shoe but run really small. Normally a 10, had to get an 11

I have been training in a pair of Free Metcon 5's for ~3 years, doing mixed running and weightlifting, and they were amazing. I finally went to get a new pair after they wore out, and I went for the new Metcon 7s, which I have since returned. Unfortunately, after trying on the new Metcon 7's, it's obvious that they do 2 things that get away from the intent of the shoe: slide backwards in the freedom of the toe-box and make the heel higher. To me, the free metcons are intended to allow you to feel close to the ground, allow your foot/toes to articulate & use the ground, and allow you to do more dynamic & running activities (which is why I loved the previous version); and these changes go against the intent of the shoe. I have since returned this pair and bought a pair of Metcon 6s, which do not have this problem. My recommendation is to grab those, look at any new releases of these (if they exist), or to look at some other brand if you are looking for what I am.

I would have given it 4 if not 5 stars but the color in the picture (white, red and orange) is not the same as the actual shoe. The color is more like white, orange, and lighter orange. Got to do better with accurate pictures.

I was recommended the Nike Free Metcon 7 Men’s Training Shoes for gym training, and while I can see why they appeal to many athletes, they unfortunately weren’t the right fit for my needs. I found the sole quite firm and unforgiving, particularly when it came to comfort, mobility and overall support during training sessions. As someone who values stability and ease of movement in the gym, I eventually opted for the Nike Pegasus Premium instead, which offered a far more cushioned and versatile experience for my training needs. The Free Metcon 7 has a strong, durable design, but for me personally, it lacked the comfort and responsiveness I was looking for, hence the three-star rating.

I bought these a few weeks ago for work needing something breathable and light but equally sturdy and supportive and these seem to fit the bill pretty well - the sole in the rear is a bit large/raised so finding the right way to lace them up is key but after some trial and error I believe to have found the sweet spot and they’ve been working out great - also they do take a few days to break in the stiffness … great shoes for light working/training! Happy with my purchase!!

I’m new to the Metcon family. I started with the Metcon 6. Love Love them. The Metcon 7 hasn’t disappointed. They fit my size 13 better than the 6’s. I like the higher back of the shoe. Great response on my hinging, squatting and plyo. Hadn’t run in them yet. So far so good! Good Job Nike!

They look mint. Had the 5s and 6s. 6s didn't last 6 months while doing sledge pushes. Still got 5s and they're holding up well. Definitely prefer the look of these.

As comfortable as the 6s with a new modern look. Love them for gym and going outside.

Sort the sizing out, 9.5 too big and 9 too small. Narrow footed never had this problem with Nike sizing

Purchased for my husband. He has a wide foot and loves the fit of these shoes. Was working out in another brand but this is his new preferred training shoe.
