Great feeling and looking minimalist shoe. I bought these to wear for long walks on the beach.

I really like how comfortable these shoes are. I like the minimalist design, but that might also be why I am giving these 3 stars. I initially bought a pair of these on sale, loved the feel, so I bought 2 more pairs to stock pile (they were being discontinued). Well after a month or so, the part in the back that connects the sole to the heel began to tear. It's a very, very flimsy material. I was actually able to get comped by Nike for one pair (thank you) but realized that this issue was going to happen with the other two pairs. It certainly did. The tear doesn't make the shoe non functional, it just makes it look cheap. I can't believe Nike hasn't solved this issue. I wish they would because I love the free runs :/

Been wearing this model for years as my occasional casual. Reliable, easy on & off Can’t go wrong.

Would give zero star if it is an option. If you look closely you will realize how terribly this is designed. You would be lucky if the parts that connect the shoelaces last for more than a month. Same goes for other models with the same design. DO NOT BUY!!!

I've been running in different designs of Nike Free since 2014. I credit the "barefoot" design for eliminating shin splints and plantar fasciitis problems caused by structured shoes. I can usually get a good year or two out of them before they wear out. The sole design is very stable on unpaved surfaces but prone to collecting small rocks which can be annoying. I'll keeping buying the Free.

Quite lightweight and flexible and sized up a half size which got the length right, but still too narrow and way too snug across top. The design of the upper is nice, but the sole and heel in particular are not attractive and bloated. The elongated bulky heel results in a heel first strike when walking and running, which doesn’t work for me. Returned.

For years, I was addicted to the Phantom fly knit running shoe, but it was discontinued. I have purchased about six different Nike shoes and brands since then and finally decided to try this one. Unfortunately, the women’s doesn’t exist anymore, so I thought I would try the men’s in a smaller size and it was perfect. I love this shoe and I just ordered another pair before it’s discontinued. It’s not bouncy like all the new technology and your foot actually feels the pavement. It’s great for me because I have balance problems, flat feet and a little bit of a drop foot. I need the stability of connecting to the pavement… I can’t tell you how much I love this shoe. Please do not discontinue it and bring back the women’s. !!!

It’s a decent shoe but it is not durable at all. Don’t recommend buying

I have been buying nike running shoes for the past 20 years. For most of my adult life I have been relying on Nike Pagasus Zoom shoes for everything from running, gym workouts and everyday activity. About 3 years ago I started mixing in Nike Free Run. Some of my favorite shoes are the Nike Free Run 2018. I purchased 2 pairs of Nike Free Run 5.0 and I like a lot about the shoes. I prefer the design that has changed from the tongue of the 2018. However, the rubber in the heel of the Free Run 5.0 is a problem for me. It curves up a bit and uncomfortably digs into my heel if I rest on my heel. For example, it is really uncomfortable and produces a mild pain when driving a car where your driving foot is often resting on the heel. I drive daily including to the gym and sometimes to runs. I really don't want to have to change my shoes from the Free Run 5.0 just for the drive. Nike, please go back to the heel design of the free run 2018 shoes. When it happens, please send me a coupon code because these Free Run 5.0 are killing me.

Probably the lightest shoe I've ever had on other than Meryl slippers. LoL very light training shoe. Just be aware if you want more rigidity and support this isn't the issue for you. It is very light almost like a barefoot shoe.

I'm really enjoying them so far, they are very light. I like the color scheme on this pair as well. I have no show socks, but I think I want to get quarter length socks (wiil look better I think). What is your recommendation?
