The dramatically flared heel on the LD-1000 was originally created to support long-distance runners. First released in 1977, this fan favorite returns to bring one of Nike's most famous innovations to the street.

I love the classic looks, but I needed something different from the adidas Samba that has become so common. I bought two pair of these, one pair in white with black stripes and one pair white with black stripes. I love them. I actually prefer the looks of the LD-1000 over the Cortez. But they don't just look good, they are also very comfortable to wear. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Good afternoon. Please consider the sizing methods. Nike makes smaller sizes compared to the same sizes for other brands. So, I needed to return or exchange to get the right size. Still it's kind of tight on the forefeet. I always used adidas. Not sure whether I will get back to Nike again. But my family members like Nike!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would give the Nike Men’s LD 1000 shoes a 4/5 Star Review. The overall fit was true to size. I am an 8.5 in Men’s Shoes and they fit really comfortably. The soles of the shoes were a bit flat for my liking but they never left my feet sore. I enjoyed wearing these shoes with shorts or jogger sweatpants. The shape of the shoes made a great look with shorts/joggers. As the shoes are narrower in the front side they looked a bit small once I wore them with jeans. The black and white colorway allowed me to wear them with almost any outfit. The bottom of the shoe was extremely helpful when walking in trails and paved hills. The pattern at the bottom allowed for gripping the pavement and trails.
