Rated 2 out of 5 by from Laces just won’t stay tied...what a disappointment. I’ve owned every iteration of the metcon, and while these are the most comfortable version yet for CrossFit, they have some serious problems: The laces do not stay tied. I can’t go more than 5-10 minutes without having to retie them. Obviously, this not only makes the shoe ineffective - but dangerous when doing almost all CrossFit activities. Too easy to trip over when running, doing double unders, burpees, box jump overs. Durability on these isn’t so hot if you’re using them 5-6 days a week, but that’s to be expected - CrossFit is rough on sneakers. The laces tho, that’s just lame. Seriously disappointed. Nike, you can do better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Training Shoes on the Market Wrote this view in response to seeing some negative reviews on this page, because they couldn't be further from the truth. The Metcon 4 is probably the best training shoe I have had to date - I've had a number of the Nano series from reebok, and pairs of the Metcon 2's, 3's and 4's. After absolutely loving the 3's the 4's are just a better improvement. These are essentially just a better designed version of the 3's - which is impressive considering how good the 3's already were. They hold up well in just about everything, and are by far the best Metcons I've run in as well. 5/5 hands down

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t recommend unless you like making squeaky noises walking around. I have had 2 pairs of Metcons and both have had the signature squeak in them after a short times use making them too embarrassing to wear around. Sounds like walking on a gym floor with wet shoes. I had the first pair it happened to so I went out and bought another brand I liked. When the other brand wore out I thought I would try the metcons again hoping that the updated version would have got rid of the issue but 2 months into wearing them, there it was... I went back to the other brand. Too bad too because I thought they were comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe, but long shoelaces! I've only worn these shoes for a couple of weightlifting workouts so far, but I can tell that they're going to be one of my favorites. I can really feel my feet lock into the ground in squat movements, and they look awesome to top everything off. My only complaint at this point is the length of the shoelaces! Seriously, I think there is about an extra foot of shoelace in each shoe; even with double knotting them, they are far too long. I think I'll need to buy a replacement pair of shoelaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4th Generation Metcon User It's been really cool to see the evolution of the Metcon. Nike has really taken the feedback over the years and perfected the shoe. They made a lot of progress from Gen2-Gen3 but the Metcon 4 puts everything together very flexible, snug, light-weight great for cross-training purposes and I actually will take these out on a short jog or walk with the dog as well. The sole is not very padded so not the best for long distance but they are not marketed as running shoe so not a knock on it. Good for sprints, weights, kickboxing class, circuit training, HIIT, boot camp. I use them 4-5 times a week and no visible wear and tear yet (i've had them for 2-months now). I get compliments on the look of them all the time, as well. I like them so much I might have to buy another pair before the 5 comes out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COMPLETE HOME RUN Finally a Metcon that I can wear and that DOESN'T feel like I am walking around on an unbendable plank. All Metcons till this model I had to get full size up in, as I just could not fit into a 12. (I am a 12 in shoes but actual foot is like 11 and 3/8). I wanted Metcon so badly I just went w the Metcon 3 and dealt with it. But- could not run in (SO loud on treadmill, no support, flat-footed plank type action). Plus that shoe made my foot look like a size 16 not kidding. The 4 is perfection. Great wider toe box. Much more support midsole toe and heel, so you can run in them like 10 mins or even 20. But still that foot-ground connection is definitely there. I got the White/Light Bone/Gum Medium Brown/Black and it is H O T and great looking. Love the way it looks on and off the foot, from all angles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Training Shoes on the Market The three negative reviews posted here before this review do not reflect my experience. I have owned and trained in Metcon 4s since they were released at the beginning of 2018. They are by far the best training shoes on the market, particularly for weight lifting and cross training. They are superior in many ways to the Metcon 3s and superior to the more expensive Metcon DSX Flyknits (both the 2017 version and the 2018 version). I strongly recommend the Metcon 4s.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Received these shoes as gift. As aesthetically pleasing as these shoes are, that is all they are really good for. Sizing is a bit snug, but may loosen up after breaking in if the shoes will last anyone else long enough. I wore them 3 times for an hour each time to work out. The sole is already separating from the shoe on the sides. Would entertain the idea of a possible defective particular unit. However, this appears to be an issue many other reviewers have noted. Pretty disappointing for a shoe that is supposed to be a training shoe. I would expect it to hold up a lot better. I will have to request other shoe brands for future footwear gifts. What happened to the Nike quality that used to exist? These will "look": really cool in the closet, as I have no confidence they will last much longer to train in. Very inadequate shoe.
