Nike Men's Vaporfly 4 Road Running Shoes

|
About This Item

The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. Nike® trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe that’s trusted from the mile to the marathon.

What’s New:

  • A higher angle of the plate and lower heel-to-toe drop compared to the Vaporfly 3 give you an improved propulsive feel
  • Upgraded Nike® ZoomX foam provides even more energy return than before thanks to a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel
  • Nike® reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3, eliminating unnecessary thickness

Design:

  • Engineered mesh offers improved comfort and a disappearing feel on your foot, reducing the weight of the shoe while supplying a more consistent fit
  • The handwritten number on the midsole salutes the wear-testers who put these shoes through our rigorous test process to give you the best performance possible
  • Reduced weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride

In-Shoe Comfort:

  • A full-length carbon fiber Flyplate provides a propulsive, racing feel
  • ZoomX foam runs heel to toe to give you a springy, bouncy feel

Durability & Traction:

  • Waffle outsole pattern with perforations saves weight and delivers multi-surface traction in various weather conditions

Additional Details:

  • Heel-to-toe drop: 6 mm

Half Size Up

Love the look. IMO better than the streakflys. They feel more durable than them for sure. Only issue is they fit so tight around the toe box. I’m going to have to return & get 10.5. Other than that love the feel/look.

Everything I Could Ever Ask For

The shoe fits like a glove, and it helps me sustain a pace to keep going.

Quick And Comfort

I bought the Vaporflys to use for tempo runs and 5k-10k races. Shorter stack allows for a natural feel along with the carbon plate. Enough cushion for me as a midfoot striker. Fitment wasn't an issue as they run true to size

Narrow Fit

narrow fit not for my feet otherwise they may work well for narrow footed runners

100 Miless In Them

I like them but I do have the odd issue with them. I haven't had any issues for a long time with hot spots on my shoes but I did get chaffed on the outside of my left ankle with these, I have over 100miles in them now and when cornering I still feel a little nip in that area but not bad enough to put me off them. The upper is better than the 3 version (they used to let in small stones) but me personally I thought Version 1 had the best upper. Potentially the big issue for me is the cut out on the sole that makes the plate viewable, this week I thought the plate was broken, they were making a terrible noise but after about 1k the noise went. When I finished my run I checked them and there was a larger stone embedded in that gap in the foam. Nike really need to do away with that gap on these and the Alphafly's as well. I don't think these shoes are as quick as previous versions and I did love version 3 for marathons but I'm feeling these are only good for up to HM. I think they have reduced the weight so much that long distance comfort is compromised.
