Could Have Been Such A Winner.

Love the look and materials! I have been wearing the Pegasus trail 5 non gortex version for over a year and it is one of my favorite shoes, worked part time doing a delivery gig where I was on my feet for 10 hours constantly getting in and out of a truck and they are amazing. I bought these assuming that would all carry over with the addition of the weather proofing. They don’t even feel like the same shoe, outside of the sole. The upper fits extremely tight compared to the regular version and the heel lock is non existent, constantly feels as if your foot is going to slip out because of the material choice as well as the way they lowered the heel cup. This shoe looks awesome, they used great materials, and the reactX foam is one of my favorite all time sole materials. They dropped the ball big time with the changes they made though and these things need to be addressed on the next version.

Avoid At All Costs - Injured Twice

Sprained my ankle twice with these shoes, both on flat and my normal cross country terrain. I strongly advice against these shoes if you value your ligaments. From someone who has always ran well with Nike and used to swear by them it is heart braking. I

Wear And Tear Easily

I purchased these shoes on 10/30 and by 12/20 a hole had formed on the toe box. I got GORE-TEX thinking they were sturdy enough for my 12 hour shifts in the ER, I was wrong. The best part is that Dicks won't accept the return. I'll but directly from Nike next time.

Heel Hold And Fit Issues

I have run trails for several years in the Pegasus models, but the Pegasus 5 has fit issues that I've not experienced before. The heel hold in the 5 is insufficient and does not match the earlier models. The lacing system does not offer fit flexibility thus eliminating the ability to micro adjust when needed. Bring back the Pegasus 3 platform and last - then work from there.

Runs Really Small, Avoid.

Do not buy these shoes. They will cut off your feet circulation and I even sized up. I see why they are discounted heavily.
