I really liked this shoe at first. Comfy, looked great. The thick sole surprised me a bit, most of my trail shoes have much shallower soles, but it had great cushion. Maybe too good, because soon I started rolling my ankle when moving fast and not noticing a root or small rock. I only use these shoes on trails, with my dogs, never on the road. In 6 months of hiking 5-10 miles a week on them i have rolled my ankle about 6 times, the heel just feels too high. Today I rolled my ankle badly and on walking back to see what i hit it was just a 1" root - nothing more. I think this thick heel section is really for pavement/sidewalks, and is not adaptable to uneven terrain. Also it slips on wet rocks badly, i didn't think that was necessarily bad, but reading some reviews today i see trail runners comment on this for trail shoes.
