I bought the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 Men’s Trail-Running Shoes for my recent trip to Thailand, and honestly, they were one of the best purchases I made for the journey. From hiking through humid jungle trails to navigating busy city streets and even exploring beachside paths, these shoes handled everything I threw at them. The grip was solid in every environment dry, wet, rocky, or slick and the comfort? Next level. I wore them for long days on my feet and never once had issues with soreness or blisters. They breathe well, feel cushioned without being bulky, and strike that perfect balance between performance and everyday wear. If you’re after a reliable, versatile, and genuinely comfortable pair of shoes for travel or trail use, the Pegasus Trail 5 won’t let you down

Poor Design, Bring Back The Pegasus Trail 2

5 runs and about 40 miles in on these and the sole completely ripped off mid run. At first I thought it was a manufacturing flaw but I noticed my other pair is doing it too. I think it’s a design flaw. The outer tread layer on the bottom of the shoe does not wrap up onto the toe box allowing it to catch and slowly tear off. Nike your design team is doing too much, go back to the Pegasus trail 2 design…those lasted me 600 miles of hard trail running and still had some life left in me. These last 40 miles if that. Beyond disappointed.

Comfortable, But Unsafe Lateral Stability.

Comfortable, cushiony, breathes, but seriously lacks lateral stability- this is not the shoe for twisty or uneven terrain where the foot may land on uneven surfaces. Even mild incline/decline will cause instability. The material of the toe box is too soft; there is no bracing or reinforcement to keep the foot from sliding inside the shoe. In my experience there is an unsafe amount of play in front of the laces that has caused me on several occasions to nearly to roll my ankle, especially at speed on a "fun" piece of a trail, forcing me to throttle speed and be extra vigilant of my landing. I'm not hiking or extreme climbing, only trail running in a local park. The shoe review website RunRepeat highlighted the lack of lateral stability in the Pegasus 5 vs previous versions, I only have experience with the 5.
