How Do I Attach It?

I bought this item with everything Nike said it would go good with. I just have one major concern: how do you attach them to your child's head? I tried putting the screws in each on his temples but it led to brain bleeds. How deep am I supposed to go? Should I stop when my child can't feel anything or is that just a side effect? If Nike could please reply and tell me how to attach it, I would be very grateful.
