Too Long

What began as a harmless gift has revealed itself to be a visitation from realms that should remain unseen. Black sweatpants, absurdly long, laughably so, yet each day their folds multiplied, creeping outward, whispering promises in the language of shadows. When she first wore them, the hem merely pooled at her feet like stagnant water. Now the fabric climbs, devouring her by degrees. Ankles vanished. Knees surrendered. At last I saw only her face adrift above a sea of black cloth, her voice echoing from unfathomable depths rather than her lips. The pants do not clothe her, they consume her. Their length is not of this Earth. It is bottomless, infinite, a void disguised as cotton. I hear them sigh in the night, a sound older than the stars, patient and certain. The house is smaller now. The light flees from corners it once touched. Soon she will be gone, and only the garment will remain, hungering for another. 2/5 way too long, very soft though. Wouldn’t recommend for 5’7 and below.

Sweats With Style!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Nike Lifestyle sweats take athleisure to a whole new level, combining comfort with style for a pant that can really be worn anywhere you need to go. They’re made with a super soft, pretty heavyweight fabric that feels warm and toasty, and like they’re going to wash and wear well. I usually run cold, so I’m especially excited to have these pants for the upcoming chillier seasons. From a style standpoint, these rock! They have a sleek, flattering straight leg, with a split cuff that puts a bit of flair into the pant, and allows a cute shoe to pop forth. There’s a discrete Nike swoosh logo on one leg, which I appreciate both for its placement and size. The pants seem to run a little big, but that could also be because I erred on the side of roomy and ordered a large, which is a bit big on my 5’4” frame. That said, they are still flattering and I will enjoy wearing them! Because of their weight, these probably wouldn’t be pants that I’d wear to the gym as they’d get hot fast. But they will be excellent to wear around town, while running errands, and for comfy evenings at home when I still want to look cute. In all, these pants are really great- very comfortable, and stylish, which can be a unicorn of a combo to find. Well done, Nike- these pants are taking my sweats game to a new level for sure.
