Metal Pieces Don't Fit Through Pant Loops Well

The metal pieces that are made for the adjustment of the belt don't fit through the pant loops well (where the pants hold the belt). It doesn't make sense because we purchased the Nike belt with Nike pants and they are supposed to work hand-in-hand. It is otherwise a nice belt.
