Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome scope! I purchased this scope for my Savage Axis XP after seeing how well reviewed it was. I had a Bushnell before and the Nikon definitely feels a little more durable. Because of the difference in elevations of my old and new scope, during my first time trying to resight my rifle I could barely hit a fairly large target. After a lot of research, I decided to upgrade to Weaver 402 scope bases and Leopold Tall 1in rings. After bore sighting, my first shot was within about 4 inches of the bullseye. Sighting in was a breeze from this point on. The scope it self has VERY clear optics and works well in low light situations. I would definitely recommend the scope for the money!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 I recently purchased the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 from Dicks Sporting Goods. After significant research the sale offered by Dick's was the best overall. While I only just received the scope and haven't had a chance to mount it yet or test it on the range, the optics look good and clear right out of the box (as expected). The magnification adjustment is pretty stiff at this point and I'm hoping that will loosen up with use. This will be mounted on a Marlin 336 .30-30. Overall the buying experience from Dicks was quick and easy and the scope arrived within a week of purchase. No issues with damage to the box or scope that I'm aware of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nikon Pro Staff Scope This is now my 2nd Nikon Pro Staff 3-9x40 BDC (.308, .300 Win Mag) and I love their quality at a very affordable price. I also have a 3-9x40 BDC Slughunter on my 20ga slug gun and feel the same about it. My use is limited to occasional recreational target shooting and hunting, so I doubt I've stressed them all that much, but they appear to be rugged enough for me. They also only range from 3 years old to 3 months (this one).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Product; From Already Owning One. I'm confident in the product as I already own one, however, the anticipation of having it installed and Bore Scoped by a Dick's Specialist did not happen. Not in any way because of the Specialist, rather, Dick's did NOT have any Scope Rings to fit the scope I purchased from them. This caused additional cost and time I hadn't planned on (from one of Dick's competitors). I recommend verifying they have the specific Scope rings in stock before buying and planning to have "their" scope mounted on your gun! The Specialist and the floor manager went out of their way to assist, just didn't have the items needed to complete the "total process" I was expecting when I purchased the scope. The 3 Stars represent this last sentence, the Scope would get 5 Stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have Nikons on all of my rifles, and slug guns. Ive sat in pooring rain fir hours. My 11 year old son has dropped his and they always hold up. The glass is the best for the price bar none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope even better price I bought this scope to replace a Leupold 3x9x40 Rifleman scope for a Marlin 336Q that arrived broken. This is my third Nikon scope (I have a 3x9x40 ProStaff rim fire on a Remington 597 heavy barrel and a 3.5x14x40 ProStaff 5 on a Remington 783 30-06). I do a lot of predator hunting that involves a lot of travel that beats my gear up pretty bad. I have never had a problem with any Nikon product that I have ever owned. This includes my first Nikon camera that I bought in 1969 which I am still using. Nikon delivers a quality product at a decent price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy I have not mounted this on my rifle yet but I am sure that it will suit my needs perfectly. The glass on this scope is spectacular and clear. From what I can tell the eye relief will be more than adequate for me as I wear glasses and the eye of the scope is plenty far away from my glasses at full field of view to allow for plenty of kickback from recoil without having to worry about a hit to the eye. The bdc reticle is great and was one of the reasons why I bought this scope. Once I get it on the rifle and take a few shots I will update my review
