Worked Well
I was able to easily clean a down jacket that accidentally became a soup bowl during a strenuous overnight climb. I followed the directions and made sure to program my washing machine for an extra rinse. I did not see any film or residue. I dried it on air only, periodically removing it to manually break up clumps of wet down that had accumulated along the seams beside the zippers. It was dry after tumbling for a bit more than two hours and now looks (and smells, thankfully) as good as new!

Impressed.
I love dogs. They really are the best, except when they knock an entire hot chocolate out of your hand inside your truck because they thought they saw another dogs and then the hot chocolate gets all over your brand new down jacket. Well you've gotta clean it up somehow, and you can't use normal detergent since that will ruin and clump the down. That's why I chose Nikwax Down Wash Direct. It's gentle on my gear and won't effect the finish of the fabrics, but will leave the jacket with a nice neutral smell. I have used a couple of different products, but nothing keeps the down lofty as Nikwax. Just toss some drier balls in when you dry the jacket and you'll be all set.
