In Store Service Made The Purchase Worth It.

So far, so good. The in store experience was quite good. Much better than just buying on line. My son is really enjoying his bike. The quality for the price is nice.

No Assembly Instructions

Don't have a vehicle large enough for a bike and I don't have a bike rack for the car, so I ordered it to assemble at home. Problem is, there are not instructions and I can find nothing but a general .pdf online (for all bikes). No YouTube videos, nothing from Nishiki or Dick's. Nada. I even called their help line and they could only find the same .pdf I did.

Solid Bike 4/5

Bought this last summer and I’ve really enjoyed the ride so far as well as this year. However, now whenever I bike uphill and say I stand up to pedal to aid myself on steep inclines, the chain frequently skips or jumps. Idk if I need a stronger chain or a tune up but I hope this is fixable.

I bought this bike about a month ago and probably only put about 25 miles on it so far. I realized the back wheel was rubbing against the frame and no matter how much I tried to get the tire to seat it properly it continues to rub against the frame. I think because of this when I try to shift to higher gears the chain gets stuck in the guard and it makes a clicking noise. Going to take it in to a bike mechanic soon to get it all looked at. It's a beautiful bike but disappointed in the way the store set it up.

Good For The Money

Make sure to test the bike before buying. Brakes are a little loose. Pedals turn when going backwards. But I got a good deal.

Good Looking Bike With Issues

Purchased for a kid for Christmas. First one came damaged. Had to go back to the store return and re-order. Second one came in. They put it together at the store and the rear tire fell off and broke the derailer in about 30 minutes. The staff has been incredibly helpful however I would not purchase this bike again. If you do BUY THE WARRANTY!!! It’s been well worth it

Great Bike - Bad Assembly, Worse Repair

First: The bike itself is great. Really happy with it. It's a 5-star product. I'll note that my son would, by most calculators, ride a Medium but the Large was a better fit (long legs). The problem: Dick's assembly and repair. The tech who assembled it in the store forced one of the pedals into the crank arm, stripping the thread. The result was a bike that worked for a day or so, after which the pedal abruptly fell off while in use. Imagine the result if my teenage son had been standing up to pedal hard at the time rather than sitting down - he could have a had a serious injury. The thing is, I can forgive a tech's mistake. It's human. But when I rang up to ask for a replacement crank set, I was told they would happily take the bike and repair it - but that it would be a MONTH wait for a new crank set. So I'm now out ~$140 for tools, a new bottom bearing, and a new crank shaft. Plus a few hours of time, as I've had to learn how to disassemble/reassemble the thing. It's an upgrade over what the bike came with, but wouldn't have been the first thing I upgraded.

Great Bike

Got this as a first adult bike for my son, he loves it!

Terrible Reliability

I live in Louisiana and have owned this bike since Christmas of 2025. I have tried riding it maybe 4 times. I would consider most of the trails around where I live to dirt paths with small hills and berms. The first time I took this bike off of the pavement the freewheel in the rear began slipping when pedaling up small inclines. At first it started small and now I can barely pedal it in a straight line on the road without it happening. I tried to diagnose the problem on my 3rd outing and the chain broke. When I went to my local dicks, they were unable to help me because “the bike guy will be in tomorrow”. I only put up with this twice before going to a real bike shop to have them put a master link in place of the broken one. After my 4th ride, the rear end is slipping horribly to the point it is not rideable on flat surfaces. On top of that the brakes have already begun to fade. This bike seemingly has a lot to offer, especially at the time it was $299 before Christmas. IT IS NOT WORTH $449. Go to a bike shop and get an entry level bike from one of the real bike manufacturers as I am unable to ride mine currently. I hope I can get some help from Dicks soon but I may just have to bite the bullet and find some outside help.
