A Great First E-bike, Decent Good Choice For Burning Man

I bought this fat tire e-Bike in late August, super last minute en route to Burning Man after some friends mentioned to me that the ground was extra soft this year. Luckily this model was 1) on sale, 2) already assembled in store and 3) within an hour it was tuned up and ready to go. The bike handles intuitively and well on all sorts of terrain. I will say that since there are no shock absorbers in the handlebars/fork you might be in for sore wrists if riding on hard and bumpy terrain. I also had the opportunity to test this bike in deep and thick mud (the consistency of heavy clay), which still managed to jam the bike up; so bear in mind that this bike, while excellent, is not infinite. The Bike/Build Technician helping me in the Daly City, CA store was named Michael and he provided super helpful and thorough instructions on how to use the bike safely and how to care for its parts. Michael even got on the phone with his counterpart at another DSG location in Dublin, CA and worked with them to reserve a second instance of this same model e-Bike (in light blue) for me to pick up there, which I purchased 3 hours later.

Nishiki Minooka E-bike

I purchased a month ago at dicks for $1000 battery life is ok, sweat is very uncomfortable, handles well but need pedal assist a lot more than I’d like.

Ok Bike

I bought this bike in September and it worked good until the screen started going to all zeros and I am now taking the bike back.

Do Not Buy From Nishiki

I would not recommend purchasing anything from Nishiki. They are unreachable if you have any warranty issues. It appears to be a shell company. They don't have a call number and don't respond to emails or social media. This bike has already had a pedal fall off and is also impossible to pedal without the electrical assist. Dick's has taken it to do the repair but the new crank shaft has been on back order for three weeks. Had a test driven this bike, I never would have purchased it.

This bike is amazing! As much effort as you want to put into pedaling. You can just about fully automate it so it’s 100 percent just moving for you, or can treat it like a normal bike where you do all the work — all with the click of a single button
