Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lighter than the other bikes I bought the Nishiki Manitoba 24" girls hybrid bike for my daughter. It is not the best bike on the market, but compared to most of the bikes at Dicks, I believe it is above average. My other options were the Nishika Moab (which I also own) and Diamondback Tess mountain bikes. The Manitoba is much lighter than the Moab or Tess, 25 pounds versus 33 pounds. The Manitoba has a 6061 aluminum frame, the others are steel. It has quick release skewers front and rear. THIS IS IMPORTANT! No wrench needed to remove the tires in case of flat or in order to fit the bike into a car. The tires on the Manitoba are 24" x 1.375" wide, which is fine for roads and smooth dirt or gravel trails. Not wide enough for thick mud or rocky terrain, but my daughter is not a serious biker. This bike does not have a suspension front or rear, not a big deal for me either. The brakes and shifters are on par with the other bikes. Shimano Revo shifter and Shimano Tourney derailer. It has 14 speeds. No kickstand. I assembled it myself. I do not recommend this unless you have worked on bikes before. I had to adjust the brakes, install the handle bars and stem, adjust the derailer (it would not shift into cogs 1 or 7), and grease the chain and other components. Vague assembly instructions are online but are not specific to this bike. Have Dicks do the assembly, but double check the function of the brakes and shifters at the store. Overall, the lower weight and quick release tires were reasons enough for me to spend more for this bike. Great for dirt trail riding and cruising around the neighborhood.
