Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bike for the money! I bought this bike for my 11-year old daughter who hadn't really ridden since training wheel days, but nonetheless wants to do a triathlon. I didn't want to spend too much, given that she'll probably outgrow it in 2 years, and if she gets serious about triathlons (she's already an excellent distance runner and swimmer), she'll need a more appropriate bike. This fit the bill perfectly! Several pounds lighter than other comparably priced bikes, derailleurs shift smoothly, and good brakes. Once she gets more handling experience and a tri or two under her belt, I figure we can switch to slicks until she's outgrown it. After riding pretty much constantly all weekend, her only complaint is about the seat. I'm thinking about replacing my heavy commuter bike with this one now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ride!! I couldn't be happier with this bike! Smooth ride, easy to shift, comfortable seat, handles like a dream. It's aluminum and very easy to pick up and put on a car bike rack. I'm over 60 yrs old, too! Awesome bike. I highly recommend it. Worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality bike for the price Let me start by saying you can't compare Nishiki to Trek or any other high brand bike. I have owned this bike for over 2 years and I rank it up there with my Liv, Diamondback, Trek, and Specialize that I own. The bike serves the job it is intended to do. Bike fits are essential for good rides. This bike has the most comfortable saddle out of all of my higher end road bikes. I have ridden this bike over 30 miles at a time and it has performed perfectly. I have absolutely no complaints with this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High Quality, Higher Resistance--Much Harder to Peddle than Trek I bought this after really getting into riding around 8-20 miles at a time. It was much This is a higher quality bike than ones I've ridden prior (for less money) and as such, I thought it was great. It was my first 'expensive' bike. However, after riding for a year, my legs were constantly burning, I never felt like I was getting stronger. Just recently I tried a Trek hybrid, and OMG--I've been making things SO much harder on myself . The other bike was lighter, the resistance was much easier--not so much that you're not getting a workout, but so much that you don't feel like a failure everytime you're going up hill. Seriously, I hike, kayak, bike and workout religiously. I am fit and have no issues with strength. But, again, I had no idea I was missing out because I had not tried similar models. As such, I'm going to list this for sale and move onto a Trek so I can find more enjoyment in biking. I'd recommend you try this bike out and compare it to others before buying!. TL; DR Higher quality than some, but very hard to peddle compared to other bikes. I would not recommend this at this price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from smooth ride We bought this bike so my wife could participate in the 5 borough bike tour in NYC. Not only did she love the ride and ease of shifting compared to her old bike, she didn't have to take a break or walk up hills this time! Great bike, great gearing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Than a Child Sized Bike We bought a small frame of this model so this review is written as if this was purchased for a 10-12 year old girl. Although it fits a pre-teen girl, this is a serious bike with great features for the price. Quick release seat and wheels, nice componentry. I have a larger adult bike with similar components that is 8 years old and is like new. If you buy it take care of it and pass it along. it should out last 3 or four owners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and fun to ride, careful with bumps I’ve had this bike for a few weeks and already put 150 miles on it. For the price it’s exactly what I needed: fast, lightweight, and good for a beginner. As a novice cyclist, I cannot believe that my first time taking it on a long ride I made it to 95mi at about 14mph. That said, either bike shorts or a better seat are recquired, again for the price this was expected. My only recommendation to other buyers is that this is a hybrid bike so there is not much suspension...not good for bumps or broken sidewalk. Overall it’s a great bike and you get everything you need to have a great ride!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Who makes a bike with no kickstand? Really a bike with not kickstand and the most uncomfortable seat you could want?
