These socks worked well when hiking in Montana were both cold and hot temperatures! Gave an extra pad in the boot and would purchase again.

I purchased these socks for a 4-day hike to Machu Picchu with a new pair of hiking boots. I was concerned I would have sore feet, blisters, or rubbing from the boots during the long trek, but these socks, without a doubt, helped prevent that. I had some lingering sores from a pair of hiking sandals that I had been testing, and these socks were thick enough, soft enough, and moisture wicking to alleviate any discomfort. I even leant 2 pairs to my BF who used them for the hike and he agrees they are great for hiking! Highly recommended.

Don’t do it. Don’t buy these socks. After wearing wool socks almost every day for years, I was lured in by the low price of these. What a mistake. The soles of all the Northeast Outfitters socks I bought — 6 pairs — all developed sizable 1-3” holes within 4 months of use. I’ve worn each pair probably 8 days each; they are in the rotation of a large collection of wool socks. Once or twice did I use them on a hike. The rest were for light wear — I work remotely and walk maybe 90 minutes a day. I love wearing wool socks and have a collection of REI and Smartwool ones. The REI socks are in better shape after 4 years of use than these in a few months. I was fooled. Don’t be like me. Don’t be a sucker.

I’m very pleased with the quality of these socks. I can wear while hiking or working in sales

These were in deep discount at Dickssportinggoods right before Christmas. I wouldn't call them hiking socks. Not particularly thick. And they are a little bit too large. But for the price, good as every day socks.
