Great, Stable Kayak

Bought the Ocean Malibu II about 4yrs ago. It's been great! Super stable for 2 adults. I've taken it down many Florida rivers and into the ocean.

Excellent Tandem Kayak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After review of multiple tandem kayak rankings, the Malibu Two showed up multiple time so. I bought it and used it for the first time this weekend. I have a cockpit kayak and don't like the enclosed feeling. Tis is a great kayak. I much prefer the sit-on-top design. The seats offer very comfortable back support. The ability to paddle solo is a great feature.

Handles As I Remember From All Of My Rentals

It took a few weeks before I could take this beauty out on its maiden voyage, but once I did it did not disappoint. I launched it from a local dock on a nearby lake and took my two kids out on what was a choppy windy day on the lake. The stability and handling of the kayak was superb considering I had my two most precious cargo on the deck of the kayak. The lake was extraordinarily choppy with 3' waves, but the kayak was stable and I was able to navigate using some previous skill. It remained a safe and fun voyage although short lived due to the roughness of the lake. The kayak did not disappoint and was beautiful to en-devour. Make sure you know where you plan to store it and how to maneuver it to where you want to store it. At just over 12' long, it is sizable.

Bottom Cracked On Two Boats

We purchased two of these for a boat rental operations, They were used every day during the summer, and ended up with cracks in the hard plastic after two seasons. We have older style kayaks that had lasted more than ten years. I think plastic is poor quality. disappointing because they were great, I just wanted them to last longer.

Great For Bringing Friends

I fish solo and it paddles well, tracks well, but not a lot of room for fishing gear. I bought this to bring my wife around with me and it is amazing, what it loses in fishing aspect it delivers in tandem use.

Versatility All Around

After renting this kayak from the local park multiple times, I finally purchased my own. It tracks really well as either a tandem or single (sitting in the middle seat). Foot wells are permanent but clip on seats are adjustable for the ultimate fit. Feels very sturdy and would take a large amount of effort to flip it. Not a lot of storage (I pack light anyway) but comfort and stability more than make up for that. Great kayak for me, my son, and dog, but at 12ft and under 60lbs., it is very manageable for those solo outings too. All around great kayak and would highly recommend.

Well Built Kayak

Nice heavy duty kayak, yet light enough to be handled by one person. Trails nicely. Do suggest buying a set of scupper plugs though.

It blew my mind how comfortable I felt in the middle going solo in adverse conditions. I've had it in some large surf and some heavily currented waters. Not only did I never have any issues of any kind, I never felt like I wasn't in control. It's not ideal for fishing, but it can be achieved with some patience and attention to detail. Paddle on!

This is the same one we used while on vacation in Maui and loved it. Dicks was great to work with and ordering it for me. It came to my home as promised. A very good experience.
