Went to Dicks in the Deptford mall to buy a new putter grip even though I hate their prices. It was a convenience last minute thing. I was with my 8yr old daughter. After picking a new grip & waiting for it to be put on my putter I figured we could walk around and look at some gear. Not only did I feel like I was being watched and followed, but I was asked more than 11x if I’m okay and if there’s anything I need. Even my daughter felt the staff following us. It was so bad to the point where I had to say “Yes, I’m ok, and yes if I need anything, I’ll just turn around and ask someone.” There is absolutely zero need to follow customers around to the point that I could tell they weren’t fixing clothes or doing inventory. Everywhere I looked and turned there was a staff member spying. It’s a shame the society we live in anymore. People wonder why Amazon is so popular. My daughter was carrying around a soccer ball to buy, and I was carrying new golf balls and my putter cover. Shouldn’t that alone tell the staff I’m not going to steal anything? To add, in the golf section putting green, where you usually putt balls to get the feel of the putter you want to purchase…had zero balls out. I had to ask an associate. Can I please get a ball to putt on the green? Oh, sure I’ll look around. I rarely shop at Dicks anyway because of the insane price hikes but let me just state for a fact that I will never, ever spend another single cent in that god forsaken store ever again. I felt followed like I was with a group of convicts doing trash duty. Again, to the point I actually raised my voice to the 11th person who asked if I needed anything. Yes, I need you to leave me the heck alone. See ya never again, Dicks.
