Rated 3 out of 5 by from Feels like $20 baitcaster I bought so I can try a left handed baitcaster to practice with, without breaking the bank and making sure it’s what I needed. Not too light, feels like plastic, because it is. I didn’t expect a high quality baitcaster for the price, I wasn’t disappointed. Opened the side plate, and the whole housing is plastic. Probably won’t hold up to much abuse. Just going to use the lefty to practice with, and give the righty to my daughter so she can practice with a baitcaster, she wanted to try it out (she likes it now).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from First Baitcasting Rod I was cautious about buying an okuma reel. I’ve heard mixed reviews over their quality but it was one of the few reels that offered a left handed version with the gear ratio I was looking for. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my dad and he is a very inexperienced Baitcasting angler and he has had no problems when he’s practicing casting it. I’ve paired it with a Field & Stream Tec-Spec Black Casting Rod and it is working exactly as it should. Not the most amazing rod and reel combo by any means but it is certainly a good starting point for someone looking to buy a beginner rod that isn’t a piece of junk.
