Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must buy for smallmouth I bought one this past march when i got out of the military service. i took 6 months off and fished every single day with this reel on a 7'1" mojo bass st croix. the drag runs smooth and clicks nicely, the bail flips over with a quality clicking feel, and doesnt flip over after you click it into position, and still does after hundreds of fish caught, and thousands of casts ive made. i bought another one this past week for my new 6'8" mojo mass. i cant say enough good things about this reel. i mostly fish creeks/ small streams for small mouth. so i frequently wade and dip the reel into water, no rust when i open it up, this thing just works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dick's Exclusive Reels Rock! Bought this reel on sale, in size 10 about a month ago - paired it with a 6'0 Quantum QX36 rod and couldn't be happier!! The white/black color combo looks professional AND it paired perfectly. I have already landed numerous largemouth bass in the 2-4lb range, without a single issue. I like the smaller set-up for fighting with bigger fish, and this reel performed like a $100+ reel! Using 10lb braid with a 10lb leader, the action was very sensitive and super fast! With 8 ball-bearings and weighing only 6-ounces, this reel cant be beat, especially for the price!! - I would definitely recommend this reel!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great reel that won't break the bank I have bought 6 of these reels so far. I primarily use them inshore fishing for speckled trout, flounder and red drum. So far these reels have held up really well and I am very pleased with them. My favorite feature is the low gearing. I like this because I really enjoy using top water lures whenever possible and the low gears allow for awesome "walk the dog" action. Everything now is geared so high for very fast retrieves, and while that has its place too, the slower speed is a welcome change. The reel is very smooth casting and retrieving as well. All in all, I will continue to buy this reel as long as they sell it and would not hesitate to recommend it to other anglers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good while it lasts, but better options I bought this reel because it was very smooth in store. After about a year of use, it starting to feel like something inside was causing friction that made it hard to crank the reel. Found out the gear for the handle broke off multiple spokes that got stuck and caused it to prevent from cranking freely. This gear from what I can tell seems plastic. It’s also positioned far from the pole causing a little strain for those with smaller hands to reach for the line. For 30 bucks why not, but don’t let the “retail” price make you think your getting the value of a 70 dollar reel. I moved onto a Daiwa Ag-rb and the drag and smoothness of this reel is night and day better for 60 bucks, got it for 48 on a flash sale from Dick’s. Also the 2500 series Daiwa has is about the same line size as the 35 Okuma but lighter and a higher gear ratio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to use I recever a pole years ago that I don't use much because of the size and weight and hated the reel that came with it. My state changed how many poles you can fish with and I always fish with some one for some reson never has a pole or tackle or anything elts ( free loders!) I usually use light take and very light line. I itroduced my niece to the sport of cat fishing and wanted to make sure she had fun so picked up this real on sale can not recall how much and put on some 8lbs+ line incase we hooked in to something big. I was suprised how well it casted I'm thinking of putting it on my light pole with low test line to see how well it works

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dependable Reel I bought 2 of the size 25 reels in the summer of 2015, and have used them for crappie, bream, yellow perch, channel cats and walleye several times since without any problems whatsoever. I believe for the money, these reels are the best you can get (I paid $30 each for mine). They are very comparable to the Pfluger President Series reels, of which I have 3 of. I guess if I had to choose one or the other, I would pick the Pfluger - if they were the same price; the Okuma if there was a $10 price difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome spinning fishing reels I have owned 8 Okuma spinning fishing reels in sizes ranging 25,45,55 and 65! They are wonderful reels with maintenance required to add many years of usage! Must do maintenance on them just like an automobile in order to prolong longevity of the reels! Without maintenance of any brand of reels will result in deterioration and corrosion within day to day fishing! Also most fishing reels and rods does contain lead base cancer causing agents so buyer beware! Wash hands after handling any fishing rods and reels!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a happy fisherman The reel got great reviews and I was super stoked to see it on sale when I went to get my new setup. Reel worked great for about a week(10+ fish) then the bearing started to go and it started grinding. No longer smooth and looking to return it asap.
