Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Canoe I bought this canoe for my hubby's 61st birthday. I ordered it online and picked it up at Dick's in Madison, Tennessee. The front and rear seats are very comfortable. There is a bench seat in the middle that our little Yorkie likes to sit on. The bonus storage under the bench seat, the rod holders, and drink holders are an added bonus. My husband and I were able to load this in the back of his pick up with no problem. It's easy to maneuver and glides across the water. We plan to be on the water a lot this summer. Great price for great canoe! As long as my $50.00 rebate doesn't get lost in the mail, I'll be a happy campy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catfish Terrorizer I love this canoe. I have cat fished from a kayak for years but I finally got tired of having all my gear piled up on top of me. I have plenty of room with the Old Town Saranac, however. It is very stable and I could not believe how fast it is. I can still keep up with my buddies who have stream lined kayaks. I can sit for hours in the adjustable seats with folding back rests and not be sore. If I do need to stretch, the Saranac is stable enough that I can stand up in it. I am extremely happy with it. I would like to mention that I saved $100 buying it from Dick's compared to the other sporting goods stores. I have it loaded on my truck now and plan on going to catch some big blue cats in the morning. Get your rod and reels and come join us!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old Towne Canoe 14.5 ft Bought February 2016. Easy to handle - lift carry - launch with only one person. Seats have backrest that can't be taken off, I do like to lean back and rest. No center bar to carry on my shoulders, have to use a paddle. I really miss a one inch center keel to help stay on forward track, this one is flat and tends to slide sideways too (much too) easily. Also wish the hull thickness was a little more as I've noticed the plastic seems thin for my style, but I'll report back after taking it on a few outings. It's gonna get scratched on logs under water for sure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breaks too easy! My husband and I bought this canoe three weeks ago. We liked the light weight, the comfy seats, the handling of it both on and off the water; it's maneuverability on the water and ease of loading on the truck roof rack). Three weeks after buying it, the top frame rail cracked just below the handles both front and back where the screws attached the handle mechanism to the boat. This made it dangerous to use or carry. We were heartbroken. I called Dick's Sporting Goods and they were readily willing to replace the canoe. Upon inspection of the 2 other same make and model canoes in stock, it was found that they too were cracked in the same place. We opted not to order another Saranac 146 because this is obviously a defect that needs to be addressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great canoe, even for a big guy. I bought this Canoe in the spring of 2016, and I used it all summer. It's been a great little fishing rig on ponds and small lakes. I'm 6'4 and weigh 330 lbs, I was worried I might be too big for this canoe, but even with another person I haven't had any issues. When I go solo I just fill a 48 quart cooler with water and set it at the bow for ballast while I paddle from the stern, works great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Boat I purchased as a boat to handle all of our gear for a 3-4 day canoe/ camping trip. we spent about 6 hours a day on the river and lakes. Paddles nice with a Kayak paddle from the back. The seats are fixed and can not be reversed. A little heavy for portage but is still manageable. Seats are extremely comfortable for the long days. In a strong side wind it wants to push bad and a little hard to control with a single paddler. Things a little strange. the cup holder for the back is in the middle seat. a little difficult to reach. I will put on closer to the back. the center seat has a storage compartment but it does not latch so when you turn the boat the so door opens and things fall out. Adding some type of a latch on mine. Overall for a very nice boat for a single paddler loaded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Canoe Had the opportunity to take this canoe out twice on the lake. It's a great little canoe. 14'6'' is perfect for what I want to use it for. I can carry it by myself and load it on my truck, but it is a little awkward. Easy enough for 2 people to carry though. Real easy to use/navigate in the water too. I suppose it's because it's not overly long. I really like the middle seat because it's also a little storage area. I put the things I don't want getting wet in there. I really don't have any bad remarks about this canoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I hoped for ! I bought this canoe in April and finally got it out in the water this week , two times to be exact . I decided on a canoe because I have a Jeep and need to transport it on the top. I have equipped it with a 40 lb thrust trolling motor that hangs off the side on a bracket that I purchased separately . It performs well on the lake , it is stable and glides through the water with ease ! Even with 450 lbs of men in it . The seats are comfortable with good leg room . The only knock is it is awkward to load by yourself because of the stable design of the boat it doesn’t want to stay upside down , it is always looking to right it’s self . I bought a canoe loader that goes into the receiver hitch that makes loading it much more manageable. I look forward to many nights of fishing in this great boat .
