Piece Of Junk, Waste Of Money.
Bought this kayak a little over a year ago. I’ve owned Lincoln-Old Town products for many years. I have to say this is the most disappointed I have ever been. I’m on my third mother board and the new one they just sent me doesn’t work right. I have to run the motor with the kill switch disconnected. As soon as I can get this unit running correctly it’s getting sold. I’ll be buying a new kayak but not from this manufacturer.

Big Bass Electricity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sportsman 106 MK was exactly what my 9 y.o. needed to fish out of! He's too short for a PDL and was tired of being towed around by big Bass in his paddler.

Incredible Kayak!
I have had my Old Town 106 Powered By Minn Kota for approximately three years and have hundreds of miles on it. I absolutely love this kayak and all the features for existing and future upgrades to make it my own. I have numerous plans for new a Xplore unit as well as a MEGA LIVE 2 live sonar. Old Town has earned my business, and I will be a life long customer. I really like how they have integrated all the needed items into the kayak and still allowing you to "customize" it to make it your own. My dogs love it also!

A World Class Kayak At A Competitive Price!
I have taken so many trips in the MK 106 and couldn't be more impressed with the unique qualities of this kayak. First, it is a great size and length for most anglers - at a length of 10'6 it fits perfectly in a truck bed or even car top. Second, the custom motor from Minn Kota is a workhorse - with the right battery you can run this kayak all day with charge to spare. Third, it is so versatile - take out the motor and insert the cover plate and you have a perfect lightweight and stable kayak for rivers and streams.

Ocean Beast
Love this kayak! The rail systems are great for easy change out for my fresh water to salt water set up! Got a wizard anchor and diver down flag with led light. It's tough and can handle the ocean. Love the storage space! I am able to carry 2 scuba tanks set ups. 1 in front and my friends scuba tank in back. I use a tow rope and pull him out to sea on his kayak! Plus spearfishing gear fins weights for freediving trips! Loading this kayak up and it still pulls through ocean like a beast! Then I remove everything for some fresh water bass fishing. The 10ft+ length is perfect for my truck. Doesn't stick out so far that I have to go buy a trailer. I wash it alot especially after the salt water and keep the cables clean and lubed. Apply some die electric grease to all the power connectors and fittings. Never had an electrical issue. Been a great kayak! Highly recommend it!

Mk 106
First time on the water and it performed flawlessly. Outfitted it with a LiTime 12v 100ah lithium battery and a Humminbird helix 5 fishfinder. The helix was connected to a noqua 10 ah battery. There is plenty of space in both the front and back of the boat. Turns on a dime and I was able to get a speed of 4.2 mph easily. After 4 hours on the water the battery was barely touched. This kayak is well thought out and well built. The predrilled holes for electronics made installing the fishfinder a breeze.

Fantastic Skinny Water Fishing Machine
I've fished this thing hard about once a week for a year and a half in a harsh saltwater environment. Overall, I'd highly recommend the platform for anyone who wants to go where nobody else with a powered vessel can fish. I've had to replace some of the electrical connectors and steering cable fittings due to corrosion, but I've had no issues with the motor or controls.

Great Little Kayak
Bought this kayak in store for a really great price on sale. Wasn’t even looking to buy another kayak, but it was a no brained when he said 50% off. This thing is packed with features and handles great in the water. Very stable and lots of power from the included Minn Kota motor. The only negatives about this model is the weight, need to purchase a battery for the motor, and need to register it in California.

Awesome Yak!
Put this powerhouse in the river and did amazingly well. Had a good current and wind (Wyoming) against me and had no issues getting up river in it. Price is well worth it. I have two pdl kayaks and honestly I will probably never use them again. Good to have for friends I suppose.

King Of The Everglades
This 106 Sportsman powered by Minn Kota has been a game changer for my style of fishing, which is mainly deep in the Everglades here in South Florida. For one thing, the motor in this Kayak is tucked neatly up into the hull. In other motorized Kayaks like the 120 (as example only) that motor hangs down twice the distance. It has to for the spot lock feature. It would snag/hit just about everything where I fish, which is mainly in very shallow hydrilla matted water. Even on other Kayaks with regular aftermarket electric motors, just not as neatly tucked in like the 106 Sportsman here. I have taken this 106 Sportsman through the thickest and gnarliest stuff imaginable without the slightest issue. It's size is perfect for knitting through the sawgrass islands. It's light enough to launch ANYWHERE solo, which was a must for me in the glades, day or night. Yet it's long enough and wide enough to stand, pitch, and flip....very stable. The boat is water tight. I have yet to see a drop inside the hull. Provision for things like holding/stowing a measuring board was logically thought out. Goes to show that the designers used their "fishing brains" when designing this craft! The little things make ALL the difference. For a battery, I went with a high quality lithium and fish all day, even double or triple days without needing a charge. I can go miles and miles with no worries. But even if unpowered, I can paddle it very easily because it's not a long and heavy boat. Very dependable. My basic point here: we can all give our take on Kayaks but location and intended usage wins the bell. For me, for my location, and for my intended usage, Old Town hit it out of the park with this boat!

Southpaw’s Dream Kayak.
This is the perfect kayak for a left handed person to operate. I almost always troll baits holding my fishing rod with my left hand and adjusting the throttle with my right hand. The sportsman106 mk should be offered with the throttle on the left side for the majority of people who are right handed.

Excellent Fishing Kayak!
Ordered my 106 MK through Eco Fishing in July of 2020. It arrived the end of October, 2020. Only had a chance to use it once before winter set in. I’ve now been out about 15 times in it and love it! It’s easy to load and transport on a simple flatbed utility trailer. Super stable on the water. I have a 100 ah Amped Outdoor lithium battery that will easily last all day. I’ve gone 15 miles trolling and only used 50% of the battery. My suggestions for Oldtown would be to factory install a battery meter that will work for lithium batteries (currently they only work for lead acid. If using a lithium you need to buy and install your own meter), and possibly install an anchor trolly as an option. The kayak is perfect for inland waters. I would highly recommend!
