The Best!

This is the best pedal drive kayak currently on the market. I’ve used mine 5 times already and I’ve caught plenty of fish so far. It’s super stable, very solid and pretty heavy so a good kayak cart is a must. I came from a $250 Ozark Trail kayak from Walmart to this beast, so this was a major upgrade and I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

Next-level Kayak Experience! Brilliant Fishing Platform!

As a longtime fan of old town kayaks, I was very knowledgeable about their build quality and durability over many years. Excellent. I had to check out the new PDL drive 106 as a more powerful platform for fishing lakes in my area. Straight out of the box, this boat was super intuitive to set up and launch. After dropping the rudder and starting the propulsion system, the boat quickly accelerated, and turned on a dime! This is an absolutely perfect tool to up my trout fishing game with plenty of space for storage and options to customize. Thrilled with my purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to ditch the outboard and still have an excellent way to get outdoors and catch some fish.

If you are looking for the best kayak on the market, this is it. It is not cheap, but it is an incredible kayak. The pedal drive is amazing, the hull is built to last, and it is loaded with great features. Super comfortable to sit in, and easy to stand in. Make sure you buy a spare paddle as it doesnt come with one, and you will also likely need a kayak cart depending on your use because it is heavy.

Spent about 10 hours down a river and felt more comfortable than ever. Was able to maneuver around anything I came across. Pulled up the drive and rudder to paddle on super shallow water. I think the best part is that I’m finally able to focus on fishing solely while keeping control hands free.

Stable As Bedrock!

I was a bit concerned about standing and casting or setting the hook and was very happy to find out that stability was rock solid. I was easily able to speed along in calm water and when winds piped up to gusts of 25 to 30. Hauling it around is easy with a cart without it i would not try it is heavy to carry. getting it in the back of a 4x4 lifted truck is a challenge until you figure out the process. Adding sonar was easy 40 min job i mounted the transducer inside the hull amidship and the battery, 7amp hour, in the bow hatch in a poly box, think Tupperware.

The one thing I liked about this PDL from old town is that it comes ready to use as soon as you get it in the water… they were plenty of options and accessories you could add but the bare bones version of this kayak will have you fishing or cruising without the need of buying anything else if you do choose so.

Great Freshwater Kayak

I've had the 106 for 3 years and I really like it. Its durable and easy to transport when planning to get out on the water. From a fishing standpoint, its great on the water, stable, lots of storage capabilities, and can easily maneuver in tight areas o b the water. I'd recommend this product for anyone interested in freshwater fishing on ponds, lakes and rivers.

Old Town Fan For Life!

Kayak arrived in flawless condition. Took it out for the 1st time this past weekend and really enjoyed the ride, performance and ease of use. I am older but was able to load and unload alone! I live in Florida and paddle (and now pedal!) year round. My truck bed is 5’ long and I had no problem transporting the kayak. Love the seattoo! I have a bad back and I was very comfortable. This is my 2nd Old Town. I still have my Loon 120. I HIGHLY recommend this kayak for fishermen out there.

Great Customer Service! Both At Dick’s And Old Town!

Bought this kayak a few days ago. When I got it home and started checking the parts, I realized the seat shuttles that hold seat in place were missing. I called Dick’s Sporting Goods in Hamburg the next day. They went above and beyond getting me a new part. Matthew , in Kayak Section looked everywhere to see if he could find it. Bottom line He called Old Town and they are shipping me the missing part. He and the manager, Stephanie, made me feel like I was their top priority, even during these busy times. very happy with my purchase. Pdl 106. there are somethings that needs tweaking, but that's what nick Navarre is for. Far rear Hatch would be amazing. Pdl drive is smooth and quiet.

Solid Platform

I bought my 106pdl in 2022. This kayak is a beast, I ocean fish in some pretty nasty conditions, wind, waves and tides and I have not had one bad experience. This year I've added a 55lb trolling motor directly behind the seat to increase my range and tide planning. Don't hesitate if you are serious about a solid boat, not one issue yet and I use this yak..

I was so pleased with my 2021 Sportsman Topwater PDL 106 that I purchased a 2022 Sportman PDL 106 so I could take a friend and/or family member out fishing with me. It's stable enough that I can stand up to work the flats of South Texas and light enough to load/unload onto a truckbed or trailer with relative ease. Navigates creeks, rivers, bays and open water well. Very minimal amount of maintenance required to keep the PDLs running smoothly, even with running mostly exclusively in brackish and/or saltwater. Everyone who loves kayak fishing should have an Old Town!
