Tommy Bahama dropped the ball on this purchase, big-time. The Sandal, manufactured back in 2021, came horrendously dried out, with cracks, creases, and fading all over the leather topsole, and straps with scratches. I was looking at purchasing The Olukai Men's Lae'ahi Lauhala in a Fox 8.5, TB owes me at least that complimentary on warranty alone, considering their arrival condition!

Construction seems top-notch, as it should for a pair of sandals that cost $120 yet are still made in China. I wear a 10.5 so ordered an 11. Unfortunately, my foot goes right to the ends and side. Order at least one size up.

Nice But Not Up To Other Olukai Sandals

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a few pairs of Olukai sandals and they are generally very stylish and comfortable. This model lives up to that standard overall; however, they are probably a step below comparable Olukai models like the Mea Ola, for instance. The leather is more of a finished smooth type as opposed to the full grain leather on other models. Also, the sole is a composite as opposed to a combination of leather and rubber pads on other models. The toe strap on this model is a soft cloth as opposed to leather, as on other Olukai models. Some might prefer the cloth strap as it is a little softer, although the leather ones soften up as they're worn and are probably more durable. It might be a matter of personal taste, but for the exact same price you can get a leather wrapped sole, leather toe strap and maybe a little more comfort from the rubber pads on the other models. My advice is to compare this style to others and determine which you prefer.

Pretty But Not Comfortable

This was the second time I’ve ordered this style of sandals made by Olu Kai. I returned both because the footbed was so hard. It’s been a fairly long time since I ordered the first pair, and I thought maybe they had improved the comfort factor. They didn’t. I even looked at a pair in a local store two days ago and didn’t buy them for the same reason. I love the style and design but won’t buy them unless they are comfortable enough to wear.
