Best Youth Pack

My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting (of 3 settings. ) It has the top “brain/snack pack” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l (because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

This Is A Great Pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great pack for younger kids. It is our second one, we bought an ace 38 a few years ago for one of our other children. Knowing how well that pack worked out, we decided to get another one for one of our other children, one of the improvement of this version over the previous version is a hit belt pocket to put snacks into for easy accessibility while hiking.
