I’ve used a lot of different coolers throughout the years (yeti, orca, Cabela’s, RTIC…). This orca was right up there with the Cabela’s and yeti’s in my mind. I preferred the exterior of this orca over most other brands. The handles and positioning of the hinges and other exterior features made using the cooler better. I ran into an issue with the internal size of the cooler though. I know from previous experiences with these types of coolers that you definitely don’t get the same amount of internal space as you’d expect just from looking at the outside of the cooler. That’s why they can cool their contents so well and for so long. I feel this orca cooler was noticeably smaller than what I had expected. My wife definitely let me know too :). It was also heavier than I had anticipated. I completely understand though…these gripes I have are what contributes to the overall internal performance of the cooler. Just be aware if you’re looking to pick one of these up that they are a bit of a heavyweight in this category of coolers. My gripes are also what make this orca cooler so solid, high performance and high quality. For reference, we use this cooler primarily for kids sports events and weekend tournaments in the summers. We’ve used the cooler for 3 camping trips and it was the go-to for the “cold beverage cooler” in our group.
