Product Care

We recommend treating your Oru Kayak as you would a fiberglass, wood, or skin-on-frame kayak. Here are some guidelines:
  • Avoid unnecessary dragging or bumping - use the carry handles to lift, instead of tugging it behind you
  • Store out of direct sunlight - our boats have a 10-year UV treatment, but we still recommend sheltered storage
  • Rinse the kayak thoroughly with fresh water after each use - sediment and salt that dry to the surface of the boat can be abrasive over time
  • Oru kayaks are designed to be easily repairable if anything should wear out over time. Oru repairs team is happy to help! Just shoot us an email to service@orukayak.com with a brief description of your issue, a photo, and your Hull Identification Number to get the ball rolling

Inaugural Voyage :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow!!! So happy I got my own Lake kayaks. A friend of mine had some and I really enjoyed going out on them. I have a Honda Fit and the Oru Kayak is perfect for my car. Beautiful Florida day today, we found a launch area and we were on our way in a few moments. Super easy set up and fantastic time kayaking and exploring

Wonderful! The Lake Sport

I love my Lake Sport. It works so well for me. It fits in my Mini, I can carry and assemble on my own and I feel like I’m on vacation when I’m not.

Almost Perfection

So I'm on the lighter and shorter side. I find hard tops to be awkward and inflatables a gamble if I sink the rails. This has been great in nearly every respect, I would only add a rudder of some sort rudder

All Eyes On These Boats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So much fun. I'm glad I practiced assembling in my living room, but even so, these boats were so easy to get together by the lake. What I wasn't prepared for was how many people stopped by to ask questions! We had a great time on the lake and a wonderful boat picnic. It feels very stable. You would have to really try to flip. I can't wait to take them out again!
