Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdoor shell pants These pants are an excellent value for the money. They aren't as heavy weight as my original (and much more expensive) pants but have already proved to be just as warm for working outdoors in northern New England where we see a lot of below zero temps. Although I'm a small, I bought the medium so that I wouldn't be limited in the number of layers I could wear underneath. The Velcro tabs on either side of the waist make it easy to adjust them to fit.The calf area has an inside layer with an elasticized cuff. Since this wouldn't fit over my heavy outdoor boots, I was ably to comfortably tuck it into the boot and still have the exterior layer outside the boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good water resistance and warmth I purchased these pants for skiing, but they came in very handy for all my mountaineering expeditions that also included one snow camping for the next 3-4 months . This is an excellent product for the price, I even washed it multiple times, and it is still water resistant. The fitting was also perfect (I'm 103lbs, 5'3'' and ordered an XS). One thing to remember is to use less detergent than normal while washing, or you might see a whitish foamy lining appear on the friction points while walking. This only happened once on the first wash(because of its high water repelling nature), and subsequent washes, I was more careful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Outdoor Gear Women's Crest Shell Pants Purchased both the Outdoor Gear Women's Crest Shell Pants and SkiGear Women's Mountain Pant. The fits are different, Outdoor gear is slightly longer 31-32" and cut slimmer, SkiGear is roomier on the hips and about 30-31" long. Bear in mind this are great for a short run down a slope or snow boarding with the kids, they are water repellent, NOT waterproof, they will get wet on longer exposure to snow. They are great for cold weather, specially if used with a layer under them. The value and quality are good considering they are about $35 each.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, Comfortable, Roomy Bought these last minute for a spring ski trip. The price was right, they looked good, and I needed them fast. Even with free (slow) shipping, I received them within a few days. The temp on the slopes was in the 40s--and these pants were too hot for me! So I'll be using them in colder temps next winter instead. They'd probably be fine in 15-30ºF.The fit is pretty true to size, and sits at the natural waist. I am tall and curvy, so I ordered a size up, in case I needed to layer up with long underwear. The bigger size fit fine in the waist (adjustable waistband); however, it made the pants poofy in the hips. Not like snowmobile-suit-poofy; just a little more poofy than normal. They're attractive enough for being in public, just don't expect to win a fashion contest in these. But why would you be wearing them in a fashion contest? Go play in the snow!!The attached boot liner fits great over ski boots or regular boots. The pants seem well made; sturdy. They are comfortable and soft, and only a little noisy. I can see using these in winter for snowshoeing, tubing, skiing, skating, walking, or sitting in a freezing hockey rink for three hours! (These probably are not very comfortable for running or biking--a bit too bulky.)The only thing I'd want to change about these (besides ordering my normal size) is to have the inside legs lined with a microfleece or some other material that won't stick to your legs when you're all hot and sweaty, while providing cozy comfort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me I purchased these in size small and medium after reading the reviews. I was looking for snow pants to wear for a snowshoeing expedition this winter in Maine. I am 130lb and generally wear size 6 pants. The small size was too big in the hips and waist and very baggy in the legs. The fabric and lining seemed good quality and may suit someone with a very different body type to mine (I have narrowish hips and legs.)I have sent them back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pants for the price Purchased these pants online from Dick's. Fit and comfort is excellent but I have to question its water repellency. I wore leggings under the pants to make sure staying warm would not be an issue. Tried sledding in it and I ended up sitting more on my butt and in the snow than on the sled. After about 2-3 constant hours sitting and sliding in the snow the pants were almost completely soaked at the buttocks area. I guess I'd need to buy waterproof pants to stay fully dry. All in all I think these are great pants. I'll have to spend more time sitting on the sled and not in the snow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from USED PANTS- DIRTY!! I ordered these snowpants for a ski trip as I needed some snowpants in a hurry. When they arrived, they were dirty, worn out at the bottom and clearly had been used. As I needed the snowpants for a trip, I didn't have time to return and order a new pair. I couldn't believe that there was ZERO quality control here and no one noticed they sent me a pair of completely filthy pants. While the pants fit okaaay, they aren't the greatest. Quality is low, but what do you expect for fairly cheap snowpants. I had low expectations to begin with, but wow... Dirty, used snowpants was not what I had in mind...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm shell pants I ordered these pants to slip over leggings for a walk or to play out in the snow. I keep warm in them. They feel wind proof. They have pockets that zip! They have two side pull tabs to have them fit more snug as needed. My only complaint is that the inside lining with elastic is very long. and the legs are really long too(about 3-4"). I am 5'6" and usually wear 32" inseam. It drags. But this length probably helps if you were to be wearing ski boots. They are great for the price. They are repellent. They are more than a shell, they are insulated.
