Great Winter Shell

This is my go to Soft-Shell for mild Cross-Country ski days. It’s great to be layered or worn alone. I love its breathability and wind resistant especially early mornings on the mountain. I had it layered with merino wool all the way down to -40 and was skiing without issue.

Good Hoodie, Very Lightweight.

The hoodie is nice, lightweight, and water resistant, I’ve used it spring skiing when it was snowing, and have been in light rain with it. It’s not all that windproof but is water resistant pretty decently. It has some cool tech for contact points built in, it feels a little more synthetic than I thought it would, super stretchy and very lightweight. It’s nice if you’re looking for almost a daily shell to wear 3 seasons

Great But Seriously Flawed

Let me start by saying this. I love the Ferrosi and the idea behind it. I feel like if they changed a few key aspects this would be a 10/10 hoodie. It breathes and blocks wind amazingly. You can wear this as an outer layer and only a few base layers underneath and stay warm in harsh conditions. However it falls short in terms of Durability. It pills like crazy. I had to get it warrantied 3 times because of how badly it pilled. The newest replacement is ALSO pilling. Not great. Another thing they absolutely must change is the hem draw string lock. It doesn’t stay in place and I constantly have to retighten it. If they fixed these two things then the Ferossi hoodie would be near perfection. I would also like some kind of Velcro around the sleeves. Maybe a climber variant too that is more harness compatible.

Lightweight Jacket

This jacket is somewhat misleading as it is very very light. Id consider most sweatshirts warmer than it. But it does great for what is was made for. It is extremely stretchy and would be great for layering on a hike. It also fits snug so if you plan to wear many layers under Id go a size higher.

Ferrosi Material Is Tops

I really enjoy this material and the stretch it gives. Tons of uses: gym, walkabout town, Florida in November, shell over down, New Mexico summer nights or August winds, and early morning range days. I appreciate the extra attention to detail in the areas where someone would have a lot of contact or friction like carrying a pack.
