I’ve been wearing OR gear for quite some time, and usually find their clothes to be rather form-fitting and fit my slender frame well. The Shadow Hoody however, is a bit different. Larger, relaxed and boxy fit. The quality is solid like all OR technical clothing, but it’s best as a stand-alone jacket vs. something to layer under a storm shell or puffer like I thought it’d be. I really like the understated color and thumb loops on the sleeves though!

Have an older version of this jacket that I love. This one is even better- it has thumbholes and the insulation is improved. The loft is great and I had to check the tag to believe it wasn’t down.

Jacket fits me very well and has definitely been a good addition to my winter setup (temps in the 30s and damp). Warm but not bulky, packs down small enough to easily stuff it in my bag.

I love this jacket - it’s lightweight, comfortable, and packable. This is my second shadow hoodie, and the most recent version has longer sleeves. Not a huge deal, but if I’m not using the thumb looks, I fold the sleeves inward to sit on my wrist. I’m 6’2”, 205lbs and ordered the large.

I brought it about 2 months ago , found exterior shell white fibres came out, feel not reliable and durable material.

This jacket is great !! I received this jacket about a month ago and have been very impressed so far. It is very warm considering how light it is and very comfortable. The level of water resistance is more than capable for light rain and light snow.

Warm and light weight; my only complaint is the lack of zipped chest pocket found on most other mid layers and shells that OR offers.

The jacket is comfortable and mostly fits. When I purchased the jacket I didn't look closely at the sizing chart. The store offers a medium jacket, and that's what I needed with the exception of the arm length. I needed a medium/long, the arm's of the jacket are too short. The tag that is on the jacket has M/M which makes me wonder if the jacket may come in the correct size however OR doesn't offer it at the online store.

Pros: Good insulation, stylish fit for city and outdoor wear, handles rain for upton3-4 hours Cons: Zipper gets stuck and takes longer to dry once wet

I bought this to replace a northface summit series. I love the inside pockets for gloves and hats when not in use but could use a chest pocket preferably on the outside and the hood is so tight it crushes a ball cap and if I have the hood up and want to zip the jacket all the way it’s so tight I feel strangled.

It is very comfortable to wear and reasonably warm.

This jacket is excellent for the chilly early mornings of a Minnesota fall. I wasn't too excited about the color choices available but fortunately for me the orange I ordered came looking darker and more burnt than the picture and I love it. I'm 6'1 215ish and ordered an XL, the fit is slim but looks really good on me. It's light weight but enough to keep the wind and chill out until the sun can warm things up a bit.

I am an international first responder in training having mostly used this jacket in the Western U.S. I've used this jacket on the cold summer nights in the Sawtooth mountains, as a back up layer on a winter cross-country ski trip in Colorado, and as my everyday winter jacket at home. It is very comfortable and looks great as a casual jacket. I love that the sleeves are long enough for my long torso. Although it may not pack as tight or be as light as a high-performance climbing puffy, I found that it still kept me warm in fairly extreme environments such as my Colorado ski-touring trip. The bit of sacrificed space and weight is made up for in the jackets versatility. The jacket looks and feels great and serves as an awesome do-it-all jacket. I'm sold! If you are obsessed about weight and packability perhaps you should shoot for a higher performance puffy. For most people, this jacket checks all the necessary boxes and for that reason I give it a high recommendation.

It's as advertised and extremely comfortable. I would recommend it for fall and spring or as a layer.

A great mid weight jacket for all seasons. Soft and comfortable yet durable. I hang dry mine to keep the rain resistant working. Southern Oregon Pacific beaches are windy, sometimes foggy and cool, this jacket preformed excellent! I also have a shadow without the hood. Please keep making this jacket I will buy it again when I wear this one out.
