I’ve been using the Outdoor Research Men’s Shadow Wind Hoodie primarily for cycling, and it has quickly become my go-to windbreaker. It’s impressively lightweight—so much so that I barely notice I’m wearing an extra layer. When I don’t need it, it packs down incredibly small and tucks neatly into one of my frame bags without taking up valuable space. The “Viper” color is another highlight—it’s bright and makes me much more visible to other road users, which gives me peace of mind on busy rides. The fit is excellent, not too tight or baggy, and I really appreciate the addition of hand pockets for off-the-bike use. The hood is also well designed: it’s a comfortable size and can be worn under my helmet when I want a bit of extra warmth on colder rides. Overall, this hoodie hits the sweet spot of being practical, versatile, and cyclist-friendly. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a lightweight, packable wind layer.

This quickly became a staple of my backpacking kit. It's excellent for wind and sun protection. It packs down to take up very little space, weighs next to nothing, and has a nice amount of stretch. Love the fact that it has pockets with zippers, eliminating those would've been a bad way to save weight. I recently wore it on a 4 day summer backpacking trip when I needed sun and wind protection and it worked perfectly. Dries quickly as well. I found the sizing to be accurate, I'm 5'9", 175 with a 42" chest, so slightly short with a big chest and shorter arms. I purchased a size Large because I like a little room in the torso for ventilation and mobility. It fit very well, doesn't look sloppy and the arms aren't ridiculously long for me.

6'0", 175lb, 32" waist. This and the Odyssey shorts are my uniform this summer. I wear this jacket while touring on Mt Baker, running to PCC, or lapping Green Lake with my dog. I'll layer this with a tech fleece when it's colder or run it by itself for temps from 50-80. Can't emphasize how much I love this thing. Size L fits perfect--slightly baggy but trim.

Let’s enough wind through to be breathable, warmer than wearing short sleeves. Not water super resistant but it’s not really trying to be. Been using a bunch for mtb. Packs small into its own pocket

This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that "ace in the hole" when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket (most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.
