I love how lightweight this hoodie is and it dries super fast. I've never gotten a sunburn while wearing it hiking and paddleboarding. My absolute favorite part is the ponytail hole in the hoodie. I hate having my hair stuck to my neck and I actually use this hood for the extra sun protection because of the hole. The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because of how thin the material is. I do have to be careful while wearing this shirt because it will snag very easily.

Best Shirt I Own!

I bought this sun hoodie a year or two ago and it is hands down the best outdoor adventure shirt I own. I wore it every single day on a 21 day expedition and it held up so well to hard use. All of the dirt and smell washed out of it very easily and it was like new. The ponytail hole in the hood is one of my favorite features that I get many comments on. I have also use this shirt on many many other hikes and paddling days. 10/10 - would buy again!

Used Hard Thru Hiking Ght+ Gdt + More

I wore the Outdoor Research Echo Sun Hoodie for the Great Himalaya Trail, most of the Great Divide Trail in Canada, and a lot of day hikes in between. It became my default layer. It’s light, breathable, cool in strong sun, dries fast after a wash. The hood coverage is solid and works well with a bucket or baseball hat. Fabric comfort stayed good even after long, sweaty days under a pack. There was some pilling along the arm seams, but it's to be expected with such a lightweight fabric. After heavy high-altitude exposure (3.5 months) I did get some sun damage on the tops of my shoulders, likely from the UV plus pack straps making the material taught and potentially less protective from UV. I also wore it so much I needed a patch on the back as I wore a hole in it. Most hikers won’t stress it that hard. Overall, this sun shirt earned its keep and I'll be buying another one! Or two! Highly recommended.

Great fit, sleeves are long, feels nice on the skin. I have two and they’re very easy to snag and both smell awful after a few hours of use

Breathable, Cute And Comfy

I love these hoodies. I wear them cycling and to the gym all the time! (Caution with hiking, since they snag easily. I need more bright colors for cycling, PLEAE make more bright colors. I own this in black, black with blue stripe, dark green, light and dark oranges, light purple, 2 blues, and a blue with black water prints in it, and yellow- but it’s the men’s cut, so not as flattering as the woman’s cut. Also, the lighter colors can show the bra color underneath, if that’s a concern for you.

One of the best layers for summer or winter. I use it when I mountain bike to protect against the sun and bugs, and use it in the winter as an extra layer during ski days. I love the hood too to protect my neck! Highly recommend this layer for anyone looking for a versatile layer. Best layer for any beginner or expert! Size is reliable.

My Lightest Sun Hoodie

So comfortable and light! I have many sun hoodies from different brands. This is my lightest. The hood doesn’t have a cinch but it works in windy environments because it’s close fitting. I have this one in multiple colors. Can’t go wrong.

Love It!

Nice layer of protection in the sun, works great while on the water, trail running, mountain biking, or gardening! I would like it to be of a better quality for the price however.

I Like These So Much, I Bought Three More

These are fantastic Sun shirts! I use them all over the US, but primarily Colorado and Tennessee - very different climates! I pull these out for everything from mowing the lawn to uphilling to hiking. They’re my go-to over my other Sun shirts because they’re so light. I run warm and rarely wear long sleeves in summer otherwise, but these give me a light base that I can layer over if I need to (e.g. in winter). I originally bought two of these. I love them so much, I just got three more. Will be taking them as my daily shirt for trekking in Nepal in November.

Awesome While It Lasts

I bought this item at the beginning of the summer as I was primarily working outside. It is super breathable and was comfortable in 85+ degree humid weather. I found that it provided some protection from bugs (but not amazing if that's what you're looking for), but it is provided great sun protection. My only complaint is that it snags and pills extremely easily, so I have some concerns about long term durability, but overall this is a great product.

Perfect For A Run

This is my wife's favorite running top. The material is breathable and has sun protection. The hood kept her warm on cold mornings. The long sleeves easily roll up when needed. She liked it so much she ordered a second hoodie.

Lightweight Sun Protection

Great hoodie for long hours in the sun, very lightweight and breathable and can be worn even on the hottest days. I liked the holes on the sleeves to lock your fingers, I work 8-10 hour days under the sun and do outdoor sports as well and when I wear gloves I want to make sure my sleeves don't ride up and expose my wrists for no reason. Product fits true to size.

My Favorite Sun Shirt

I now have 3 of these and I wear them constantly for backpacking, biking, and running. They’re SUPER lightweight so you can actually wear them on hot days. They are only spf 15, but wayyy better than an spf50 shirt you overheat in and have to take off! It’s a bit fragile (catches on things) and thus won’t last forever, but I love it anyways!

Super Comfy On Sweaty Days

I use this for doing trailwork. I get dirty, sweaty, lots of sun. this is my favorite sun hoody by far. The material is light and does quickly without feeling gross while it's wet. the hood stays on in windy conditions yet i can still wear a ball cap underneath if I want to. my coworker says the neck is a little small when the good isn't up but I have never noticed it. light material, so not the most durable but ill keep buying them because of the comfort and fit.

My Go To

My go to. Pros- lightweight, dries quickly, not overly fitted or too boxy, breathable, and fabric isn't scratchy or rubs in weird places. Cons- the price, and finding my size. This is one of the first things pulled out when packing for long hike or 14er.
