My son was fine with them as a gift he had asked for online but I think the material is rough and the waist ran large after I saw them on him on vacation. Looked like he was wearing a rain coat for shorts - maybe that’s the idea but didn’t look that comfy for hanging on the beach. For those reasons and the price, I wouldn’t recommend.

I own a couple of Patagonia Baggies and really like the fit. The material is a bit stiff and slightly boxy, but they still fit well. I usually go for the 7”, but I tried the 5” since they were on sale, and the length is perfect. Plus, I got them at a great price.
