Higher Rise Than Expected, Waist Is Tight

Bought 2 pair, size small for a 5’4” 120 lb, athletic build teen, size medium for 5’4”, 150 lb mom-build. Teen loves the style, but says, “the rise could cover the Eiffel Tower” &, “Woah, these are higher than my super high-rise jeans”. Also found the waistband to be tight & length a tad long. Oddly, mom & teen finally totally agree on something! Aside from that, the color (grey) is perfect & the material was great.
