The Hydryve Is Defective

the boat itself is very nice but the drive is ng it's been redesigned.yet they are still selling old model. returned kayak after 1st day of use

Failed After A Month

Bought this a month ago. When I picked it up from the store it was already damaged with scratches and one of the rudder line guides broken. Was able to get money back for that. However after a month of use the pedal system started squeaking horribly and then finally broke. Also the seat strap felt like it was going to get pulled up through the plastic and made a lot of noise with every pedal. Save yourself the hassle and get a Hobie or old town.

Good Kayak

This is a good kayak for my use would have given 5 stars but wasn’t happy with the way I received it has three deep cuts in the plastic one is so deep probably want trust it on a day trip in the water because of how deep it is

Satisfied, But Could Use Improvement

I bought this kayak a couple weeks ago and have taken it out once. I like the kayak and it is great when the tiller is working. The HyDrive is excellent. The issue I have with the tiller began with the required assembly of the rudder/ tiller as described in the instructions. The tiller control/ guide wire was balled up in a nest packed under the tiller control plate. The instructions directed to pull the wires out at the stern and attach to the rudder. After much unsuccessful effort to pull the wires out, I finally removed the four screws of the tiller control plate. As noted above, the wires were all tangled up. I untangled the mess by rotating/ spinning the control appropriately 6-10 turns. I have an issue with the tiller control wire on one side slipping loose. This is covered in the trouble shooting section of the instructions. I had a buddy help me do the instructed fix as it requires two people. I hope that will solve the problem.

Fast And Stable

Great kayak. I've used it heavily since the ice was off the lakes, 3-5 times a week. Had some issues but customer service sent replacement parts immediately. No issues since the parts have been replaced. It's easy to bash a new product that has some small issues but I can say I love my catch 130 and would only trade it for a Hobie costing twice as much. (I paid $1500, for $1200 this is a steal)
