No Support Or Follow Up

Ordered through the website for pickup once I got it home found several parts missing and broken store manager promised to help but ended up dodging my calls. Trying to repair myself and get suport from manufacturer. Greatly disappointed given the cost and total purchase.

Horrible

Wrong chair, damaged and broken, can't replace it because it's not a Dicks product too! Wouldn't recommend!

Affordable Pedal Kayak

After selling my Hobie Pro Angler 12 to get a lighter weight kayak that I could easily carry on my own I bought the Catch 110 with the Hydryve 11 pedal drive. The kayak was prety simple to rig, had to install the steering cables to the rudder and install the stadium style seat. The Hydryve is very similar to the Hobie Mirage drive but not nearly as robust. Pelican did beef up the rods in the fins as they were suffering too many breakages and found the Hydryve II sturdy and under hard efforts could get the kayak up to about 5mph. At 10'6" in length and about 34" wide the kayak is stable and tracks okay but feels a bit sluggish. I have been able to stand in the kayak to fish but your mileage may vary. The only dry storage is a small round hatch near the stern, which is pretty much useless and difficult to access while out on the water. I considered adding a 5" round storage hatch near the bow but sold the kayak before doing the modification. Some things I didn't like about the Catch 110 were the vague steering and the seat. The steering knob seem to have quite a bit of play no matter how I adjusted the cables to the rudder. The raised seat was comfortable for a couple of hours but became my legs would tend to fall asleep if out much longer. The tension of the back of the seat is adjustable with webbing and buckles which was nice. While the plastic bucket lets you adjust the webbing to allow for the back to be more upright or slanted back. Others have reported breaking the plastic buckle, mine has lasted. There are three flush-mount rod holders and like the forward facing one to rig or place the rod in after bringing a fish onboard. The single grab handle on the bow and dual rear handles on the stern feel nice and solid. Overall this is a nice affordable pedal kayak that is light and fairly stable. The RAM-X material seems to scratch fairly easily but is considerably lighter than rotomolded polyethelyne.
