Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, easy to manage I bought this kayak because it was lightweight, which I hoped would help me to manage getting it on my roof rack. While the short boat length seems to result in some fishtailing in the water, I do think the lighter weight and shorter length helps me get out there. It's definitely cheap-and-cheerful, but does the job for a fun kayaking experience. The online price was lower than the in-store price (same for the paddle) but the staff were nice enough to honor the lower price. All in, a good retail experience that I hope will lead to lots of adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for starters Girlfriend purchased this kayak to go out fishing together on the lake. Not only did it hold her but it held me (220lbs). Definitely needed some balance when in, but once I got the hang of it I loved it. Could probably use a skeg as it doesn't track very well. Other than that, amazing little boat for the price. Can you fish out of it? Definitely. It is fun and I would recommend it to any friend within the weight threshold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Kayak I'm a newer kayaker and I was looking for a kayak that would be easy for me to lift on my own, fit in my jeep wrangler (I don't have a roof rack yet), and be able to enjoy the beautiful Seattle summer. This kayak is light at only 34lbs, I can easily move it around myself (5'8" female) and it fits into my jeep wrangler with ease. My only complaints are unfortunately due to its size, the thing I bought it for. When I added additional weight for a camping trip (3 days; all backpacking camping gear), it was riding super low in the water. My friends actually thought I might capsize I was riding so low (I had maybe a total of 190 lbs in the kayak with gear and myself). Additionally, because it is only 8ft, it really doesn't offer much room to store camping gear and it doesn't glide in the water as well as larger kayaks. My friends all had larger pelican kayaks and despite matching their pace, I still couldn't keep up with them. If I had to make the decision over, I would've gone with the 100 instead of the 80. Still a great little kayak if you're looking to stay on a calm lake for a day trip or short night trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Present Bought this for my 10 year old granddaughter and the smiles never stopped. Worried that she would have trouble maneuvering it, but after a few minutes of instructions and practice she was off. She even rocked it and there were no worries that it would capsize. Didn't stop until she wore herself out. Out did the energizer bunny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small and lightweight kayak I bought this in April 2018. I wanted a small and lightweight kayak that I could fit inside my old SUV. When I recline the front passenger seat and fold the back seat and turn the kayak upside-down, it fits great! The tag says it weighs 27 lbs. I am a 58 year old woman, 5 ft 8 in tall. I can lift and carry this easily. The drain plug is a nice feature. I don't think I will ever use the cockpit table and bottle holder, they are too shallow to hold anything, and with one tilt or wave, your items are in the water. The bottle holder in the seat is also quite shallow. Lots of room to pack your stuff under the bow. I would highly recommend purchasing a paddle leash, $10 at Dicks, tether your paddle to your backrest strap or life jacket, so your hands are free to get in and out of the kayak, also to adjust your hat or rest or take a drink. Not sure how well some paddles float, and you will not lose your paddle in the wind, current, or waves. At first I thought maybe my paddle was too short, but maybe I need to raise it higher when it's out of the water, I sometimes hit the side of my kayak. I took 2 short paddle trips so far, this kayak is perfect for me on ponds and lakes. It is a steady ride, affordable, lots of fun, easy to store in the garage or in the basement through the bulkhead. The turquoise is nicer than this photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kayak for mom! I bought this kayak on Memorial weekend and we've been learning how to kayak and taking it on several of the rivers in GA. It's a comfortable kayak, easy to maneuver and seems pretty durable when I bang it into other boats and rocks along my learning experience. The bungees are super strong and allowed me to attach my yeti soft cooler and didn't let go when I flipped over. Love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good river kayak This is not a very good river kayak.the hull designe let's makes it drag more than say the sun dolphin 8ft.the lower sides allows water to come into kayak very easy aswell.i wh ui led stay away from this if your doing any river runs.the sun dolphin 8ft is a way better river kayak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs more compartment s Purchased 2 and worth every penny. My 12yr old daughter can flip any kayake but has yet to flip this one. Easy to steer. Great in shallow water and the bottom has taken a beating and has held up well. Gave it 4 instead of 5 cause needs a compartment or two I the front, at least another recess with bungees
